Vancouver February 23, 2013 - German-Canadian actress and producer Scarlett Bruns has been instrumental in the #SaveBCFilm movement that has swept Canada in the past weeks. On Wed Jan 23rd eight Public Service Announcements were filmed at North Vancouver’s North Shore Film Studios. Scarlett, a North Vancouver local cast, produced and coordinated these PSA’s with over 100 famous Canadian actors appearing and over 50 crew members. Everyone came out to volunteer for the day, but Scarlett along with a handful of others have worked tirelessly over the past weeks to organize the PSA’s and ensure that they represent the film industry in a positive and educational light. The PSA’s will be released asap and will be available through social media outlets and available for local programs to air as part of their shows.

After appearing in Cannes Film Festivals magazine ‘All Lights’ this past May featuring her project ‘Heart of Dance’ which Scarlett wrote, plays the lead in and is producing, her star has been on a steady upward trend. Literally and figuratively as her IMDb star meter has been hanging out at a comfortable top 5000 for the past 6 months. Scarlett’s upcoming year is proving to be jam packed, and the year has just begun! Scarlett has a few projects currently in pre-production that she’s involved with among them the lead role in the upcoming pilot ‘Tide Waters’ directed by American veteran film maker Terence H. Winkless (TV’s Power Rangers, Disney’s White Wolves 2) and Norman Gerard’s new romantic comedy ‘Lost Luck’ which will be shooting in Canada in October of this year.

All the while Scarlett is also lending a helping hand to a handful of indie projects in the Vancouver area such as the independent feature length film ‘Radio Daze’ that she is acting in and helping kick start. Being in full time ‘go’ mode Scarlett has taken on work with the charity project Normal http://www.normallife. org where she is acting as a guest speaker at high schools across North America to promote positive body image in teens, a topic that Bruns says is close to her heart and ties in well with her film ‘Heart of Dance’. Being a charity buff Scarlett has been working closely with Looking Glass Foundations for Eating Disorders and has pledged to donate 30% of her profit from ‘Heart of Dance’ to the foundation to help further their educational and recovery programs. Scarlett also volunteers annually through Paws for a Cause, Big Brother and the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

In addition to her work supporting independent film and charities Scarlett also donates her talents as a Casting Director to local low-budget projects like the TV Show ‘Citizen’, which is now being written as a feature film.
