President Goodluck Jonathan said on Tuesday that Nigeria owes former President Olusegun Obasanjo a debt of gratitude.
The president said Mr. Obasanjo gave himself to the cause of the peace, stability, growth and development of Nigeria.

Mr. Jonathan said this as part of a birthday message to the former President who turns 76 on Tuesday.
Speaking in a press statement signed by presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, the President said “On behalf of my family, the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and on my own behalf, I write to express warm felicitations to you on the occasion of your 76th birthday anniversary which comes up on Tuesday, March 5th, 2013.

“Over the years, you have always readily given of yourself to the cause of the peace, stability, growth, and development of our country, Nigeria. For this, we owe you an enduring debt of gratitude.

“As you celebrate with family, friends and well-wishers I pray that Almighty God continues to guide, guard, and prosper you, even as He blesses you with many more years of robust health and abiding fulfillment”.
While Mr. Jonathan, Northern Governors and others praise Mr. Obasanjo for his roles in Nigeria, the Congress for Progressive Change has called for the trial of the retired General over the invasion by Nigerian soldiers of Odi, Bayelsa State, while Mr. Obasanjo was president.

Mr President please this is not time for talking about gratitude for the godfathers. So many things are happening. People are dying for no good reasons. More actions are needed in the country now (especially security wise) than talk talk.
No offense our leaders talk too much epecially when talk is least needed but when its time to talk they go mute , Buhari said, Atiku said, IBB said,Orji Uzor said, FRSC boss said and so on

We want more of GEJ did,IBB did, Atiku did and so on. All these talk talk doesnt translate to jobs for unemployed youths.
Just saying

WHATEVER YOU OWE OBJ IS NOT THE PRIORITY NOW WITH DUE RESPECT SIR

Of course, we should. Even though OBJ wasn't a good president, GEJ is worse.
Remember the Zaki Biam massacre ordered by OBJ? If it were to be GEJ, he'd say "We're on top of the situation."
Remember that there wasn't anything like BH during OBJ's regime?
At least, for those 2 reasons, OBJ may truly deserve some gratitude.

But, seriously, looking at it from another angle, I think GEJ is drunk. And we think we should all pardon a man for whatever he says when he's in such state. When he's expected to speak, he doesn't. And when he does, he spews BS!

We should be greatful to OBJ, in fact people from Odiand Zaki Biam should be the most greatful. Don't forget former residents of 1004 estates are so so greatful. We should also thank him from changing the name NEPA to PHCN.
Sometimes GEJ just sets himself up for insults when he speaks. Has OBJ said anything good about this administration? He ought to know what not to say.
