Who Is The Greatest Man That Ever Lived? by esperiense(m): 9:23pm On Mar 06, 2013
Christianity says its Jesus of Nazereth. Islam religion would say its the prophet Muhammed. Then there are some that would say its Hugh Hefner. Why? For making porn mainstream. How do measure someone's greatness?     Historian HG Wells famously said:"A man’s greatness can be measured by what he leaves to grow, and whether he started others to think along fresh lines with a vigor that persisted after him. By this test Jesus stands first."     Yusif Ali's version of the Qur'an says in surah 43:61"And (Jesus) will be A Sign (for the coming Of) the Hour (of Judgement): Therefore have no doubt About the (Hour), but Follow ye Me: this Is a Straight Path."     So Jesus or Nabi Isa is to be a sign in the hour of judgement according to this version of the Qur'an.Pretty important individual then wouldn't you say!Offcourse the hour of judgement according to Yusif Ali's Qur'an gets determined by Allah alone and even Jesus spoke of such in the Gospel accounts about his life and acts.     Most other historical figures agree Jesus of Nazareth was unique individual. Here are some:

1.Mohandas K. Gandhi, political and spiritual leader of India.

"A man who was completely innocent offered himself as a sacrifice for the good of others, including his enemies and became the ransom of the world. It was a perfect act."

2.Albert Einstein, German-born scientist.

"As a child, I received instruction both in the Bible and in the Talmud. I am a Jew, but I am enthralled by the luminous figure of Jesus the Nazarene."

3.Sholem Asch, Polish-born essayist.
Jesus Christ, to me, is the outstanding personality of all time, all history, both as Son of God and as Son of Man. Everything He ever said or did has value for us today, and that is something you can say of no other man, alive or dead."

4.Count Leo Tolstoy, Russian novelist and philosopher.

"For thirty five years of my life I was, in the proper acceptation of the word, nihilist, a man who believed in nothing. Five years ago my faith came to me. I believed in the doctrine of Jesus Christ and my whole life underwent a sudden transformation."

5.Kenneth Scott Latourette, American historian and author.

"Jesus’ life is the most influential ever lived on this planet and its effect continues to mount."

 6.Jean-Jacques Rousseau, French philosopher.

"Shall we suppose the evangelic history a mere fiction? Indeed, my friend, it bears not the marks of fiction. On the contrary, the history of Socrates, which nobody presumes to doubt, is not so well attested as that of Jesus Christ."

7.Reynolds Price, American writer and Bible scholar.

"It would require much exotic calculation, however, to deny that the single most powerful figure—not merely in these two millenniums but in all human history—has been Jesus of Nazareth."

8.Author Gregg Easterbrook.
"Surely the most enduring testament to the sage from Capernaum (Jesus hometown) is that he continues to hold hearts and minds in his gentle grasp.

Time magazine wrote:"It would require much exotic calculation,to deny that the single most powerful figure—not merely in these two millenniums but in all human history—has been Jesus of Nazareth. A serious argument can be made that no one else’s life has proved remotely as powerful and enduring as that of Jesus."   The Wall Street Journal said:"Science can’t ignore Jesus. Most scholars, barring the stray atheist, have already accepted Jesus of Nazareth as a historical person."
Most of the chief civilizations all agree to Christ birth as a start of a new era and called it AD( Anno Domini) or the Year of the Lord.

So historians, scientists, scholars, writers, political leaders, and many others past and present all agree Jesus of Nazareth was someone truly special. Was he the greatest man that ever lived though? A role model if life? Why not. Jesus Christ life seems to cut across different religions, language barriers and nationalities alike.

No man was, is or ever can be as great talk less of greater than Jesus.

He is miles apart from the rest.

This is a logical analysis for the "over-educated ones" so to speak. There is no basis for comparing The Lord Jesus with anyone or anything

Both by His teaching and His actions, no man can be compared to Jesus Christ our Lord. And after Jesus we can then talk of the likes of Paul, Elijah, Abraham, David, John the Baptist and Moses.

Akpors makes people laugh, you cannot imagine how many people he has made happy. He livens spirits and makes the day less hectic. You cannot imagine how many Nigerians he has saved from depression, how much joy he has put in their hearts. Funny thing is he never lived, people just make up stories about him, sort of like Jesus wink.
So I think they are on the same level.
