Breaking News: Council Of State Grants Diya,Yar'adua, Alamieyeseigha Pardon

Former Chief of General Staff, Oladipo Diya and Former Chief of Staff Supremem Military Concil, and brother of the late President, Major General Shehu Musa Yar'adua received a State Pardon from the National Council of State, this afternoon, a source who attended the meeting has revealed to NaijaPundit.

Also pardoned were ex-Major Bello Magaji NA/6604, Mohammed Lima Biu, Shettima Bulama, Former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha, Major Geeneral Abdulkareem Adisa (Post Humous) and Major Segun Fadipe.

Our source revealed to us that the Council of State, which is comprised of the President, Vice President, all state governors, former Presidents, the Chief Justice of the Federation, the Senate President and Speaker, amongst others, unanimously approved the list of those pardoned today.

The Council of State meeting however was not without its drama as another list which had names of hose awaiting trial was smuggled in for discussion. The Council however rejected the list and asked that it be sent back to the duo of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Minister of the Interior.

Sources told us that the unjust trial and conviction of Diya and Yar'adua was the basis of their pardon while Alamieyeseigha was considered because apart from serving his sentence he has devoted his life to travelling amongst Niger Delta communities facilitating the peace.

It's a pitty I was among those that thumb printed this administration into power. What a regretful decision by some of us.

They can as well alter our constitution to legalise corruption.

I hope they did not forget to include BODE GEORGE.

RASCALSSSSSSS.

"Diepreye Alamieyeseigha was detained in London on charges of money laundering in September 2005. At the time of his arrest, Metropolitan police found about £1m in cash in his London home. Later they found a total of £1.8m ($3.2m) in cash and bank accounts. He has been found to own real estate in London worth an alleged £10 million. His state's monthly federal allocation for the last six years has been in the order of £32 million. He jumped bail in December 2005 from the United Kingdom by allegedly disguising himself as a woman, though Alamieyeseigha denies this claim.

Nigeria
On July 26, 2007, Alamieyeseigha pled guilty before a Nigerian court to six charges and was sentenced to two years in prison on each charge; however, because the sentences were set to run concurrently and the time was counted from the point of his arrest nearly two years before the sentences, his actual sentence was relatively short. Many of his assets were ordered to be forfeited to the Bayelsa state government. According to Alamieyeseigha, he only pled guilty due to his age and would have fought the charges had he been younger. On July 27, just hours after being taken to prison, he was released due to time already served.

In April 2009, Alamieyeseigha pledged a donation of 3,000,000 Naira to the Akassa Development Foundation.

In December 2009, the federal government hired a British law firm to help dispose of four expensive properties acquired by Alamieyeseigha in London. Alamieyeseigha had bought one of these properties for £1,750,000.00 in July 2003, paying in cash. Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyeseigha used it as his London residence, and as the registered office of Solomon and Peters Inc."

Exactly what is Jonathan trying to potray other than his approval of Fraud and looting of the National treasury?

And he will come out tommorrow to say his administration is fighting corruption, right?

He is always looking for better ways to show his stu***dity. Am sure he is trying to bring Alams back into the political arena in Bayelsa or he will soon make the guy an Ambassador.
I don't blame him, but blame all party faithf00ls who vote just because of the bag of rice/Ankara they will soon share.

It always saddens my heart when I read and heard our Leaders behaving immature and taking our MEEKNESS as WEAKNESS. When will we get the Nigeria of our dream? Corruption now the order of the day in every sector of the economy.
God bless the poor in Nigeria who are always referred to as FELLOW NIGERIAN.

Because one government does something, doesnt mean it cannot be undone. Alamesiegha should go and answer to the people that are looking for him. All this will still catch up with him. Pardon today, unpardon tomorrow. If you can steal, jail time should not make you fear. You should be fearless to be a pen robber. Not dressing up like a hideous deltan woman or fainting in court. grin grin cheesy
