Fitna is a film by Dutch politician Geert Wilders, leader of the Party for Freedom (PVV) in the Dutch parliament. The movie offers a critical view of The Great Religion and the Great Book. The name comes from the Arabic word fitna which is used to describe "disagreement and division among people", or a "test of faith in times of trial". The movie was released on the Internet on 27 March 2008.

which is quicker?

coolClicking the first link, going to the site, clicking the "fitna" link and pulling up the video that is already streaming on another's server,

OR

downloading a 69MB zip file (which may take forever, depending on internet connection), storing it somewhere, unzipping it, locating it, and then running it?

hmmmmm. Besides, the movie is only 15 minutes long regardless of which method is used. cool

Oi, just trying to help (and get rapidshare points for my account grin) those wimps at Liveleak took the video down because people were sending death threats. . .
Re: Fitna The "Controversial, Anti Quran" Movie by my2cents(m): 2:23am On Mar 30, 2008
aah! My bad. Sorry about that. Wow! for live leak to take it down means this is serious business.

As I always say, truth is not something you take with panadol. The truth hurts. For them to send death threats means there is some truth to it. Or at least that is how I see it.

Oh well. Unzip away folks ! grin

I wonder why people make a fuse out of nothing. We are in technology age, and this type of attacks will always come against our Religion. By the way, Is-lam has always been under attack, and God the perfection of the religion still sustain it, with or without anyone's help. To me, let anyone write anything against Is-lam, let him produce any ridiculous cartoon, or stupid movie, it hurts, but it can't change anything about my belief. The truth is, as long as people know that Mu-slims will react if they continue to do this, will always prompt them to do this things the more. A lot of people wants publicity, and they will do anything to earn it, methinks, that is the scenario here. Back in time, while in school, if your colleagues give you a nick name you don't want, if you don't fight over it, it wont stick, but if you continue to fight and curse over it, it always stick, i want to believe this is also applicable to this all anti Qur'an confrontations.

Al Mouftinoun is a short film by the Arab European League. It is a reaction to Fitna, a short film by Geert Wilders in which he offers his views on Islam and the Qu'ran. It was released March 28 on YouTube, one day after Fitna.

Al Mouftinoun criticizes Wilders as a racist. The film was created by the AEL because they find that Muslims are being marginalised and discriminated against by Fitna [1].

first it was jew baiting by nazis and in modern days by western antisemites. now its Mu5lim baiting. i only pray some of the more extreme elements among us recognize this for what it is: senseless provocation, and disregard it as such.

its also strange to me that seun too is among those senseless bastards insulting i5lam. i can't even type mu5lim or i5lam in the correct way without it being substituted by "great ones" and "great religion". interesting.
Re: Fitna The "Controversial, Anti Quran" Movie by Nobody: 10:20am On Mar 31, 2008
actually, the genesis of the substitution arose a month ago, when seun said he was considering forbidingthe discussion of islam on nairaland.I'm sure you know why.

the substitution was the bestt compromise that could be reached under the circumstances.

you need to take it easy on the conclusions

oyb:
Thanks for the link. i will definitely check it out.

to all:
In general, here is my problem with the whole christian vs muslim thing, which has incidently displayed itself on this counter post:

1) When fitna was released on live leak et al, death threats were made and the video was pulled down. If oyb has said, al mouftin's video was released a week after fitna, why haven't any death threats been made against al mouftin et al?

2) In Wilders' movie, muslims were referred to as muslims. In Al mouftin's, you hear the word, "Zionists". In other words, Muslims, generally speaking, can pretty much say anything they want but not christians, or am I missing something?

3) Speaking from my experience living in Nigeria, in the North, a christian, generally speaking, must live within certain limits and at a time was supposed to live under Sharia law, which by the way is not the recognzed law of Nigeria. In the south however, Northerners (mostly muslims, let's face it) can live wherever they want and pretty much do whatever they want. Another case of double standards? You be the judge.

4) I am not a catholic but the pope quotes a pope of old about Islam, the Danish draw a cartoon, and the Islamic world gets riled up yet Ahmadinejad continuously speaks of the destruction of Israel and no one is supposed to say or do anything. Double standard perhaps?

The Bible says, I believe, that the descendants of Ishmael and Isaac will always be at each other so I guess I just have to accept this. I personally have no problem with both religions co-existing peacefully. However, again, based on my personal experiences, it seems christians are to be tolerant of other religions while muslims on the other hand aren't. I am speaking in generalities obviously. Of course, it is the extreme wings of both religions that are responsible for what we are seeing today.
Re: Fitna The "Controversial, Anti Quran" Movie by Neoteny(m): 10:47am On Apr 01, 2008
@oyb

tacking on a sarcastic tag for i5lam as "great religion" is no way to censor burning issues. christianity is not replaced when one types it so i find this judgment flawed. besides, we've had lots of arguments here and no one was death-threatened. certainly no one was suicide-bombed. the danish cartoons were said to promote freedom of speech and opinion and most christians agree with that claim inspite of the disrespect. in that case, why can't we freely discuss issues here and call a spoon a spoon? why must we call one spoon a spade and still call the other a spoon?

you see, don't use your own tolerance of religious mockery as a standard to which we all must conform; your ideals differ with ours and that sadly is the truth about all religions whether i5lam, christianity, judaism, buddhism, hinduism, whatever. no one should set a standard of prejudice and tolerance and foirce it down everones thraot.

sure he can print his cartoons and make his movies its his right. but one would expect civilized people to show civility and restraint in exercising rights when those exercises stand to hurt and inflame a certain section of the world. its cause and effect: you insult people, they react. but you shouldnt condemn them for reacting.

however i do denounce violence even when provoked. and i do denounce fabricated lies that christians in the north are persecuted or discrimininated against.

i grew up amongst christians and i have lots of christians friends and i live now in the north as i have for all of my life. i hereby state that these stories are false. of course there are animosities which are basically misunderstandings based on cultural differences and poor education in the north.

but even that is changing.

so lets not be biased please. if the governmet of france can ban headscarfs and religious iconography in classrooms, i don't see how its a problem when saudi arabia says a great one women must wear scarves as required by our religion (even in vatican and most covents, nuns wear scarves, in israel where jesus lived the women wear scarves, the men put on caps and grow beards in the orthodox community but no one mocks them).

we can have sensible discussions and arguments without insults and disrespect once we shed those prejudices.

@focused 123, You are the one who is worshipping satan that is why you are too enthusiastic to kill, butvher and destroy at any slight provocation. Think about it, if you are bent on standing on the false believe that jesus is your god, then i would not hesitate to point it out to you that satan is really your source of inspiration.Have you forgotten how your god commit genocide anhilating the amalekite for just defending their territory, the destruction of sodom and many other destruction he wrought on his enemy.Since you strongly believe that it is satan who love to kill then the most correct conclusion is that your god was previously being controlled by the devil so that the devil cause him to kill people indiscriminately and he repented when you said he came in person that is jesus and he saw that what he was doing to humans is bad,he saw that murderers should not be killed. He regreted his cruelty to humans and to compensate humans he replaced all the laws with a single law which is love.Don't you see how unstable your god his,he took a view previously and changed it after coming to the earth, that means he lacks knowledge of what he was doing to his people, your god even changes his opinion to satisfy your lust,i guess that is why you are bent on defending him !!such a coward god is definitely not my GOD, who knew everything from endless time into endless time, you should by now know that the god you think you are worshiping is the devil himself,it is the devil who changes opinion to suit his wishes. The devil is not interested in whether you have something to eat or not,he is interested in taking people to hell with him.How long shall you remain in bondage of tricks and ignorance.
