Good seed, good feed, good water and proper management is essential for optimum yield in aquaculture.

On a level ground, you should expect to have (650-850)g at about 4 months from fingerling stage....from 5 months you should be able to sample some 1kg

not normal. could be caused by bad seed, overstocking, underfeeding, poor water management . @ 17 weeks you should at least be having 20% 1kg, 60% 600g -900g and 20% below 600g

one of major vital ingredient in fish feed is protein. 3mm/4mm foreign feed usually have crude protein of 45%. if you are switching to local feed at this level, look for local feed that has at least cp of 42%. always written on feed bags

2. I sorted...so my using 3 ponds now (12*12.) so 2sets are eating 4mm and the last is eating 3mm

Thanks for the responds. Pls can u suggest what i can do, i don't av a mentor, i benchmark on what i gathered from this forum. And that i av been using all dis wile n it has been working well.

Pls is it advisable to feed them with Magots till when I will sell them on Monday? I fed them Magots yesterday and today, Gurus in the house, advice pls.

Ask in the house for a fish farmer who lives in your city... Arrange a visit and see how it goes...otherwise find one who lives close if not in the same city as you

I got them from a poultry(big farm o) not too far from my farm. Them plenty there and seems nobody they pack them. Any way of cultivating them is to pack dried or wet birds faeces and soak inside a big bowl before 3-4 days Magots will form inside it.

Remember to feed them to satiation... i.e as much as they can eat
