The Presidency on Monday broke its silence on the latest foreign trip of wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience, insisting that she is only attending to the health of her mother, Mama Sisi, who is currently receiving medical attention in Germany.
According to a statement by her Special Assistant (Media), Ayo Osinlu, the President’s wife is also using the opportunity of the foreign trip to spend quality time with her holidaying children before they return to school.
Osinlu however admitted that Mrs. Jonathan has a history of visiting the unnamed German hospital even before she became the First Lady, thus making her medical trips routine.
He therefore advised that hospital visitations of Nigerian leaders should not become leading media issues thereby attracting disrespective comments.
He disclosed that Mrs. Jonathan is expected back in the country next week.
The statement read, “Our attention has been attracted by some curiosity in a cross section of the public and particularly the media, about the movement of Her Excellency, the First Lady, Dame (Dr) Patience Goodluck Jonathan.
“For the avoidance of doubts and ambiguities, we wish to state that the First Lady travelled to Dubai, after which she proceeded to Paris, France, to participate in the 1st Green Women Conference, which took place in Paris on March 17, 2013 where she received the 2013 Global Women Leaders’ Award for Peace.
“She thereafter proceeded to Italy from where she went to Germany to see her mother, Mama Sisi, who is currently receiving medical attention.
“The First Lady is spending sometime overseeing the management of her mother’s condition.
“She is also using the opportunity to spend quality time with her holidaying children before they return to school, as they are with her to see their grandmother.
“It is unfortunate that again, some media houses have allowed themselves to be used by dedicated mischief makers against the basic tenet of professional journalism, which regards truth as sacred.
“It is notable that Her Excellency has a history of visiting the hospital in Germany even before she became the First Lady, thus making her medical trips routine.
“It is also instructive to state that medical experts have recommended that every human being should undergo medical check up every six months, even if not suffering ill health.
“Therefore, hospital visitations of our leaders should not become leading media issues or attract disrespectful comments”.

Another Season in the Aso Rock Lie Series! 'S2/E1- Lazaress Jonathan not sick, but on a medical trip to Germany'

Scoundrels are out with new series of befuddling lies, even after they have refused to fix the hospitals at home but shamelessly traverse the length and breadth of Europe seeking for medical treatment with public fund!

The country gets even more ridiculous by the day. Before it used to be thieving politicians , now the list includes their extended families and girl friends. Nigeria has over 20000 first class medical practioners scattered around the world. I reckon it would cost less than 5 million dollars to have some of them back in nigeria

Its only in a comedic democracy as found in a banana republic, where d 1st lady travels to 4 countries(UAE(dubai),france,Italy,Germany) within a space of a few days,at tax payers expense,& d govt still has d effontry to tell it to d faces of its citizens, brags about it,questions ur asking about it& finally goes ahead to give nonsensical, clownish reasons for d trips.
Is it dame who is obviously not in full health yet dat wi now go and nurse anoda sick person or her twin sister dat we seem not to know about!
This press release is annoying and only belittles nigerians d more not only in d sight of foreigners, but in that of nigerians themselves

She doesn't need our prayers man, she's got the best doctors attending to her. Let's direct our prayers to the thousands dying everyday in our hospitals due to lack of facilities.

It's a damn shame...
The current occupants of Aso Villa are the true sons and daughters of Baal.
With reckless abandon, they lie, cheat, steal, kill, rappe, maim, blackmail, sabotage..... etc.

I can hardly wait for 2015 when we get a chance to send those swamp rodents back to where they came from.
