Re: Facebook To Begin Charging For Messages by Nobody: 3:21pm On Apr 08, 2013
I agree. Socializing is more fun when it's free. No one should ever have to pay for it, since the media for them carries with them avenues for revenue generation which benefits these social media sites. Why then should the people who constitute the market pay to help them make more money?
Kamsy10: See how everyone is denying facebook cos its time to pay.
I bet nairalanders will deny 'oga at d top' any day he starts charging.
Anyway socialising is more fun when talk is free.

Meristem: And facebook has this caption on their site "it is free, and ALWAYS WILL BE!" hehehe

Loool...I think they should take that down first of all... Atleast I like the guys at whatsapp... They give a strong argument for why they are not free and would start collection $1 subscription fees from April 2014. Whatsapp has never been free. They give you a one year free trial. It's stated in the EULA. An organisation that has lost its values has lost its soul.

There's actually no facebook phone. It was just a rumour. Facebook call is an app still running in BETA that allows you to call your fb friends free of charge. It's already available in some countries. Fb might soon start charging for this too soon. Looool. But who cares?
Re: Facebook To Begin Charging For Messages by Nobody: 3:35pm On Apr 08, 2013
Okay, i'm off to send facebook a FREE message requesting them to close my account as soon as they start charging on messages. And if they try to charge me... I clear my cache, delete my fb app and bookmarks.

THEY SAID THE CHARGE APPLIES ONLY WHEN YOU'RE MESSAGING PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS.
