Fatai Amoo clinches national U-23 team coaching job as Amodu returns as technical director Apr 10, 2013 6:55:00 AM The NFF has filled the vacant coaching slots in its fold with two of the most experienced hands in the industry Former Shooting Stars chief coach, Fatai Amoo would soon be announced by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as the newly appointed head coach of the U-23 national football team. The NFF has also picked former Super Eagles coach Shuaibu Amodu as the technical director of the Federation. Goal.com can report authoritatively that the decision has been made before Amoo and former Eagles goalkeeper, David Ngodiga who will serve as the goalkeeper trainer were summoned to Abuja on Tuesday to meet with the Technical and Development Committee of the NFF. Also the technical director position has been filled by Amodu who would be assisted by Pepsi Academy proprietor, Kashimawo Laloko and former assistant director of the NFF, James Peters. Amodu cleverly confirmed this to the battery of reporters waiting for confirmation at the Zone 7 Secretariat of the NFF on Tuesday night after their meeting with the NFF Technical and Development Committee. “I can’t tell you that we did not discuss the technical director job among other things that we discussed today. The position truly can go to any of us (Laloko and Peters) you see here. But I would rather advise you speak with the Nigeria Football Federation officials about this. They are the ones to confirm this,” said Amodu who qualified Nigeria for both the Korea 2002 and the South Africa 2010 World Cups. Goal.com also learnt that the three veteran coaches would split the technical department into three sections which would be manned by each of them while Amodu would be the overall supervisor. Amodu no get self-respect at all o. The same NFF wey rubbish you two times in the past.. This guy has been used and dumped more times than a street w`hore..  He qualified the team for 2002 World Cup - Was dumped before the world Cup despite winning a Bronze at the 2002 AFCON. 2010 again, he qualified Nigeria for the World Cup. - Was again Dumped before the world Cup despite winning a bronze at the 2010 Nations Cup. Infact, he was rather demoted from Senior coach to Team-B coach. Even if na swear them swear for am.. |

The same way some politicians have been ministers, senators, etc and have been around for close to 50yrs or more. Where are the youths and the so called leaders of tomorrow? Amodu, Ogunjobi, Fanny Amun, Onigbinde, have been around Nigerian football as far back as I can recollect. |
