Yes, it has always been the news in Ghana that Nigerian artistes shamelessly copy Ghanaian artistes and making it their own, and the evidence is clear. Compare the 2 songs posted above, and tell me what Flavor did is not copying angry I guess you heard the song, loved it, and didn't even know he copied a Ghanaian artiste who you don't even know. Flavor didn't just copy the beats, he also shamelessly lifted some of the English lyrics and you are here talking rubbish angry

@ 2nd bolded,
That is very infantile of you! So because you personally don't know Ghanaian artistes means your so-called musicians don't know them Well, they have known them since time immemorial and have been shamelessly copying them since angry angry angry
How much do you folks pay Nigerian artistes to come perform for u guys relatively to the local ones?? could you remind me pls? Well, the presenter already mentioned your radio stations jam more Nigerian music than Ghanaian music. Never knew photocopy could be better than the original. undecided oh, I forgot, your peeps aren't talented/creative enough to make music sound so good.

Maybe they are ashamed the queen will hear their funny Nigerian accent, when words like:

Mercy has become maacy

birthday has become batday

perfect has become paafect

Heard has become haad

Earth has become aath

Ernest has become aanest

You think Ghanaians have funny accent? I wonder what the queen will say when she also hears Nigerians pronounce the following words with their funny Nigerian accent:

Open has become Opun - So if open is opun, I believe OBEDIENT has also become OBUDIENT and HEAVEN, HEAVUN? grin

Culture has become culchor

Purse has become pause

Nurse has become norse

Us has become os

Cut has become caught

Blood has become blod

Oil has become oyor

Education has become educa(shon)

Population has become popula(shon)

Nation has become na(shon) and all the other words with tions have become shons grin

Emerge has become emaage

Emergency has become emaagency

Pursue has become porshoe LOL what the hell is shoe doing in pursue

Sue has become shoe grin

Lawsuit has become lawshoot grin

I can go on and on with the Nigerian funny pronunciations. Believe me, if the queen hears them, she would go like “What the hell are these people saying? This isn't what we taught them angrygrin

No wonder nobody else understands Nigerians when they speak, except themselves grin grin grin cheesy and you are here saying Ghanaian accent is funny Abua ba!!!

Ironi: He is right. You people don't know shiit.

Any contemporary Nigerian music being played by this so-called musicians have a Ghanaian beat somewhere. The annoying fact is they lift these beats from existing Ghanaian songs without any shame. I can list songs after songs and can tell you which Ghanaian music the artist stole from.

Fact is, those really in the music industry know this truth and acknowledge it.

The man knows what he is taking about, too many Mumu on this pages.

LOL! Is this guy still on this issue Well, did you listen to how nurses is pronounced from the link I provided you with? I guess you didn't grin BAD STUDENT grin Well, it will tell you that NURSES is not pronounced NORSES like Nigerians do grin I know you are trying very hard to make it seem like your word pronunciation is good, but frankly speaking it’s one of the worst in Anglophone Africa. You posted a video for me to watch, but this same video reveals a lot of flaws in Nigerian English pronunciation. I believe you did not pay attention to how words were pronounced both by the queen and the newscasters. I suggest you go back and listen to it again and pay close attention to the following words:

Nation, reaction, expression, incomprehension, emotions, devotions, determination.

Did you hear the queen say nashon, reacshon, expreshon, incomprehenshon, emoshon, devoshon, detaminashon like Nigerians do?

The TION in those words were pronounced as SHIN not SHON like Nigerians do grin grin grin cheesy

I also captured some other words Nigerians have problem with. listen to the video again and also pay attention to the following:

Country was not pronounced contry like Nigerians do

Return was not pronounced retorn like Nigerians do

Sons was pronounced as sans despite the fact that it has the letters ON in it.

Sunday was not pronounced sonday like Nigerians do

Saturday was not pronounced Satorday like Nigerians do.

Concern was not pronounced consaan like Nigerians do

Others was not pronounce odas like Nigerians do

Terms was not pronounced taams like Nigerians do

Her was not pronounced haa like Nigerians do

Happened was not pronounced hapund like Nigerians do.

Person was not pronounced paason like Nigerians do

In your post you mentioned how Ghanaians pronounce HER. Listen again and pay attention anytime the queen pronounced it, and tell me if she said HAA like Nigerians do. She pronounced it just like Ghanaians do cheesy

So please leave your TV and radio personalities alone to do their work. They have seen the flaws in their pronunciation, so they are switching to the Ghanaian English pronunciation grin Do you want them to say porshoe instead of pursue? angry angry angry

BTW it baffles me when I hear you guys pronounce the word pursue as PORSHOE and pursuing as PORSHOEING. I mean what is the concept of POR and SHOE in the word pursue? grin grin grin cheesy

I hope this video you posted and the link I provided you with, would help you too grin But first you need to admit you have a problem with your pronunciation grin

Let me assist you.

Some Nigerians have what we have come to recognize as the h-factor.

Others have the s-sh-factor.

Yet others have r-l factor.

Others still have f-p factor.

You sometimes hear some people pronounce UI as U HI or ice as hice...

The s-sh-factor on the other hand will creep in words like plantation as plantason

You would hear some Nigerians pronounce ruler as lurer or road as load

Some of our brothers will normally pronounce people as fifu or five as pipe.

These are Nigerians and there's no denying that.

However, these are not in the mainstream and are regularly the butt of jokes in comedy circles.

It's different from Ghanaian's national anthem of nes in terms of Nurse and eh for her.

And no, no other country pronounce her as eh, I haven't heard it, it's Ghanaian, period.

It's really funny here.

On a lighter note, one of our comedians, AY, told of his experience in Accra the other day.

He was at a joint/restaurant... he ordered for a Catfish pepper-soup... the waiter took his orders...

he was already salivating... until the waiter brought a Tilapia...

TA - I thought you told me you have Catfish, this is not my order, this is Tilapia

Waiter - Yes sir (seh), this is cut (pronounced ket) fish, they've cut (ket) it.

@ 2nd bolded,

You mean you are helping me? grin I thought I am the one doing the helping grin grin grin cheesy

@ 1st bolded,

Speaking of the queen, I was at a Nigerian party with a friend (a Benin lady). During a conversation, one guy asked, “Are you Ghanaian?” and I said yes, why? And he said, “I can tell you are Ghanaian because you guys speak different from us, you guys speak the queen’s English”. I was stunned hearing him acknowledge that, but I just laughed it off and continued with the conversation. So you see my brother, the honest ones among you would admit it. I guess they are the ones who are GHANAIANIZING grin cheesy I believe you would have skinned this guy alive if you were at our table. Like I said before, leave your GHANAIANIZED TV and radio personalities alone angry They have now seen the light, and they've decided to GHANAIANIZE their Nigerian accent grin grin grin cheesy

BTW, I have learned 3 new words from you. smiley 1) Ghanaianized, 2)Ghanaianizing, and 3) Ghanaianization. Thanks a lot for that enlightenment grin grin grin cheesy

Okay I hear you, but what about the ones trained in Nigeria who have also Ghanaianized I wonder how you would succeed in re-branding them after they have successfully gone through all the Ghanaianization process. You sure have a very difficult task ahead of you. Good luck anyway.

@ bolded,

You kidding me right? Ghanaians say eh instead of her? Naah…. I’m Ghanaian and I’ve never heard that. Good try though. I can also assure you that no Ghanaian would say HAA for her, NORSE for nurse, PORSHOE for pursue, SHOE for sue, JOS for just. These and many others are exclusively Nigerian grin grin grin cheesy

Now the “waiter story” I actually laughed grin If this individual actually said ket instead of cut, then I feel sorry for her and even Ghanaians will make fun of her, because that is totally un-Ghanaian angry But it’s funny that a Nigerian would make fun of her when you guys are also suffering from the same problem angry angry The difference is she said KET instead of cut, while Nigerians say COT instead of cut. So that waiter and Nigerians have problem pronouncing the word cut grin grin grin cheesy

Okay, since you have told that funny story, I have also decided to tell you one smiley It’s a sad one though cry I was enrolled in a course where T.A.s took turns to teach the large class. One of them was a Nigerian guy. Students in the class complained bitterly about his accent because they couldn’t understand him. The sad part of the story is, they wrote a petition to the course coordinator asking that he stop teaching because they couldn’t understand him. Unfortunately for the students and fortunately for him, he was allowed to continue teaching wink What he rather did was, he made this announcement to the class “I jos want to say this to the class, I am a T.A. for this course, and I will continue teaching, if you have any problem with my accent, you can walk out” Courageous guy isn’t he wink As an African, I was very proud of him for that. But if this guy had GHANAIANIZED, he wouldn’t have suffered such an embarrassment in the first place grin grin grin cheesy

Now my friend porka, I have tried my best to help you but you keep resisting, I have therefore concluded I’m wasting my time,so go in peace, and good luck with your communica SHON with other English speakers grin cheesy

I believe you should know guys like ruff and smooth, what will you say about their style of music ? That's completely Nigerian style.

There is this ghanian artist that sang this song 'I don kolo' ? But I cannot remember their names. The truth about this ghanian artiste is that they copy our music by putting our pidgin english words when half of the population of ghana does not know what 'I don kolo 'means .

The entire landmass of ghana and its population is less than a quarter of Nigeria. How can you compare an only child with a child with lots of siblings. There isn't much pressure on ghanian resources.Ghana would have collapsed long ago if it had nigeria's population or landmass. An only child seems rich even if his parents are poor.Ghana has nothing remarkable.Your actors and actresses would die of hunger if they depended solely on revenue from ghana. Most of their income comes from Nigeria. We don't need them but sometimes they are CHEAPER alternatives to Nigerian actors and actresses.Where would Jackie and Van be without Nigeria.Yvonne always comes to Nigeria because Ghanian income is more or less nothing. We don't need you guys.We just have an accomodating nature but don't mistake that for stupidity or weakness - when we send people packing,we ate very thorough.
