MTN has a service called mtn collect sms that allows you send sms to other mtn suscribers even if your credit balance is zero naira. All you need to do is send your sms to 38701 and add your friend's number. For example, if you want to send a message to 07034554516, simply send the message to 3870107034554516.

HOW IT WORKS: How it works is very simple. once you send the message to 3870107034554516, 07034554516 will receive an sms from 38700 notifying him/her that he/she has a message from you. He is required to reply YES to the sms/notification from 38700. On replying yes to the sms/notification, the normal sms charge normally N5 will be automatically deducted from his account and he will now receive your message same way as if it was sent with credit from your phone. Great isn't it?

GLO
GLO similarly operates a service called Glopay4me. All you need to do is simply type your message and send to1462+glo number. Example, simply type your message and send to 146208051234567 if you want to send a free message to 08051234567.
