The University of Port harcourt on monday released the names of NYSC Batch B prospectives & 60% of the students graduating in 2012 are not listed because they came in through the school preliminary programme & don't nt possess a JAMB reg number. As a result, d students went on a protest.
Koly recent graduate of EEE said "how can someone graduate in december 2012 & be going for service in Nov 2013, dats like an extra year. Its unacceptable; d school has bn aware of this new NYSC policy bt chose to pay less attention bcoz dey av notin to gain in terms of money".

Uniport is a rubbish school, doz r students protesting in front of their senate building.

There are some pre degree students who finished in 2011 but cudnt make it to service cos of a missing script or a failed course. They were finally cleared to be mobilised for batch a but the new new policy prevented them from joining batch a and nw batch b may elude them too? That's two whole years! Dats because d skol has been quite on wen basic n cert students r go'n 4 nysc n we were askd 2 pay 4 d jamb regularization since March which we did n nuting has been said 2 us abt nysc, tel me! Y won't d students nt protest?

I personally led the protest, I was even the one that went in with the cso to meet the dvc. Una funny sha, this shouldn't be on nairaland.
