There is excitement within Muslim circles in Kaduna, North-West Nigeria, following news of the conversion to Islam by a popular Christian cleric.
There was a palpable tension in the state yesterday following speculations that Arch-Bishop Peter Jatau, the former Bishop of Kaduna has converted to Islam in Zaria.
News Express can however authoritatively report that it is another Jatau – Rev. Bitrus Jatau – who converted to Islam and not Bishop Peter Jatau.
Painting a clear picture of what happened, the deputy Chairman of the Izzalatul Bidi’a Waikamatul Sunnah Zaria Local Government Branch, Imam Khadir, told News Express:
“There was a mix-up in the name whereby some people thought that Rev. Bitrus Jatau was the former Bishop Peter Jatau.
“What happened at Alhaji Haruna Danja’s Mosque on Sunday was supposed to be a meeting with ulamas and confession to be made by Reverend Bitrus Jatau, but the event was disrupted by people who came to witness the confession.“
Because of the confusion the name Jatau generated, a lot of people who came from far and wide thought that it was Bishop Peter Jatau that was to receive the Kallamantu-Shahada at the Haruna Danja’s Mosque situated at Kongo, Zaria on that Sunday night.
The lighting system and the speakers were tampered with, so we had to postpone the whole thing and reschedule it until another day.” Imam Khadir than thanked News Express for making efforts t verify the true position of things before going to press.
He warned that people should be weary of rumour mongering as it can go a long way to tarnish somebody’s image or portray one as someone not trustworthy.

A perfect example of someone fallen away from grace if really true.

Non issue!
Any 'christian' that converts to Islam, or any religion for that matter, was never a Christian. 1 John 2 made it clear. And no one will try to kill him. No one will even issue statements condemning such a person to death.

OK how do you explain these scriptures "How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?" (Hebrews 10:29)

So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.1 Corinthians 11:27

In Mat. 5:13 (also in Mark 9:50 and Luke 14:34-35), He says to His disciples, “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.“

“For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame.”Hebrews 6:4-6

You dont sound like a Christian at all. Bandying these Scriptures doesn't make Bible sense. Christianity does not issue 'fatwa'.

The convert certainly doesn't know the half of what Islam is truly about, he was preached to and taught what to believe by others.
The Muslims would be very happy about this news.

2Th 2:3 "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;"

Let's pray for his restoration
