The country exports about four times that volume in crude oil.

Dangote announced in April, plans to invest up to $8 billion to build a Nigerian oil refinery with a capacity of around 400,000 barrels a day by late 2016.

For your information, UBA, first bank and Zenith bank can individually give him that loan but to prevent strain, spread risk and let other banks in, they form a lending consortium.

I love Dangote. The man is one Nigerian that has put his money where his mouth is. He works hard and deserves every kobo that comes his way. He is the only really wealthy Nigerian(aside the banker guys) that didn't make his money through oil.

I wonder which bank any where in the world will refuse to give a loan to one of the richest men in the world. Such banks will be converted to NGOs because they don't know business. The worst they can do is raise the interest rate.
