Some few decades back, while we were growing up, and even before then, Ibo women (young girls and the matured ones) are seen as Gold, and are cared for by all Ibo men. The Ibo men do have respect for their women, and make sure that they are properly taken care of, it is an abomination to abuse Ibo young girls, it was an unacceptable thing to molest an Ibo girl. In those days, if an Ibo girl is misbehaving, and any Ibo man not minding his relationship with her stands the chance to correct her and help to direct her path in the right direct. This is in line with the Ibo adage that says he that sees a fowl scattering human dungs with its legs should chase the fowl aways because nobody knows who going to eat that legs. Ibos use to love themselves so much. It is only in Ibo land that someone can stretch his hand to far distant family probably not in his state and pick a boy, train him in a business and that boy will faithfully execute the business and after some years got settled and build up his life from there. This is unheard of in another tribe. This is no longer the case nowadays, the Ibo men sale their sisters for prostitution, they abuse and molest their sisters, they are no longer the men in the house, that does not allow the goat to die while still tie to the rope, in fact they help the goat to die in that manner these days. The Ibos of these days cheat their brothers in business, this was not the case some decades back.( Ka aha eri anaghi eri onwe ha)this adage dont make sense in the life of todays Ibos. The letter is not talking about individualism, it is all about who we are collectively, what we represent as Ibos, our moral values and norms and regulations are fast eroding out of our system. We are more Nigerians now than we are Ibos in those days. The spirit and the state of mind we have these days, if actually the civil war took place in this recent times Ibos will not survive it. Because that spirit of unity and love is no longer there.... this a fact that cannot be denied. The Ibo politicians of some decades back helped to bring fast developmental stride in the whole eastern zone that made other tribes to envy us, but what do we have today? people who have deterred the progress of the Ibos as politicians. The point is clear, prior to this present times, Ibos dont see themselves as individuals rather as one entity and one family, if not there is no need for somebody from Nnewi for instant to go pick a boy from Enugu or Ngwa and introduce him to a lucrative business and afterward establish him. This sense of oneness and unselfishness is gone. We dont care what is happening to the next Ibo man, We dont care about our sisters again, we can support them to make money anyhow, but we forget the fact in our land women are not made to make money... they are called Ori aku, or Odozi aku...so is all Ibo mens fault to have allowed things to degenerate to this level, the men should go back to the drawing board. Those days we use to protect our family names, nobody will ever like to be the one to bring shame to his family.... but those who bring shame to us these days we give them chieftaincy titles, dont be surprise this lady in question can earn one from any community if she so desire. All the same no matter the tribe we should call what is evil, evil, what she has done is not right, even at the back of your mind you know it. Lets give respect and build a future for the coming generation that will base on a high moral standard.

Afam4eva:
Must these people write an open letter to everybody? When will they learn that tribe has nothing to do with the way people act in this century. They should zip it and focus on their own loves. Don't be surprised that these people are doing worse than her in private.
