Top 5 Mobile Phones Of 2012 by urstrinath(m): 11:29am On May 28, 2013
Whew! All the hype and fuss about the end of the world and Mayan calendar is long gone. We are in 2013 and another great time beckons. So which were the best mobile phone of 2012? We can have some great time by keeping the annual recap ball rolling. We cannot please everyone when we say which ones are the best. But where is the pleasure when not trying?. In fact we are spoiled with too many options. Taking some time, we managed to trim it down to five. Here are our picks. There are some usual suspects like iphone5 and Samsung Galaxy S3 and also some surprise packages. So here we go!

1.Samsung Galaxy S3
The ‘Designed for Humans’ Smartphone exceeded all expectations with its mind-blowing 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display and unique software innovations. This un-compromised performance and 40 million and counting sales graph helped S3 to grab best Smartphone Award at MWC 2013 and bestowed the title “ The best Smartphone of the last 12 months”. The boos and heckles faced by this model was mainly due to the ‘Plasticky’ panel design but its performance was indeed to overshadow that weak spot. Samsung Galaxy S4 is the warmonger of Samsung this year. So it’ll be interesting to see how Samsung is challenging its rivals this year

2.HTC ONE X+
As we all know HTC never compromises on design. The minimalist, iconic design always turns the eye. The Nvdia Tegra 3 chipset and marvel 1.7 GHz quad core processor does an impressive job in terms of graphics and performance. This feature packed phone is indeed an asset for the gamers and DNLA function extends the games to smart tv. In terms of performance we can’t find too many better ones on the block. The beats audio is the icing on the cake. On paper HTC One X+ holds all the capabilities to surpass Samsung Galaxy S3. This year, we can expect more action from their family. Watch out HTC One is waiting on the touch line itching to get into action.

3.iPhone 5
May not be the best smart phone yet but evidently the best iPhone yet. The 4 inch screen size and IOS 6 were clear evolutions from the stark machine-made designs from the ancestors and they duly paid off. The all new aluminium full plate design allures you right from the first sight. Their brand new A6 processor is its heart and it is an absolute leading edge when compared to their predecessor processor. The subpixel display showing some guts to run-over sunlight is definitely a top notch. Now media precisely focussing lights to iPhone 5S, which is under the hood as top secret. We can expect the launch somewhere around the third quarter and beyond any doubt we can say that it will add some fuel to the burning smartphone race.

4.Samsung Galaxy Note 2
A phone or a tablet? The answer is its a Phablet. Note II is for all those thinking bigger is better. The statuesque 5.5 inch display and a whole new bag of S-Pen tricks are enough to fill the big shoe of its parent. The 2GB RAM is a powerhouse for multitasking feature which can pull work and play together. The over powering battery of 3100 mAh remains as a daydream for other smart phones. The never ending saga of smart phones means that galaxy note 3 is ready to hit the shelves sooner rather than later.

5.LG Optimus 4x HD
Although a late entry to the quad core battlefield Optimus managed to hold on with the HD surname and shared the crown with Samsung and HTC. When it comes to speed there is no one stopping 4x HD and it appears ready to play big leagues. The angular slab-like ultra slim body is a pleasure to look at and it is worth enough to accessorize our jacket. The price point is another attraction set against other smart phones. LG Optimus 4X HD holds the title of LG flagship phone for the year 2012 and now it passed the baton to LG Optimus G Pro.
