You are technically right, The mechanism that motivated the whole action cant just be attached to the job loss alone.

Mr. Patrick can get a job as a danfo /taxi driver I believe there are folks in Benin who are looking for trustworthy people to help them do this business.I,for example, am looking for a trustworthy driver to help with keke Napep business.
Mr.Patrick can take up laundry services alongside planting cassava on a borrowed farm and sharing the profits with the owner, he could get a loan of 100 to 150k and set up a small canteen in that same motor park, he could do a hell lot of things if he only he was willing to think and start doing something other than killing himself.
All the above points might no be actual solutions to Mr.Patrick's problems as I don't know if he borrowed a huge sum of money from loan sharks, school fees or house rent. But one thing I know is suicide is definitely not an option.

I wish there was a way i could contact the wife and kids directly, so i can convey my condolences and help out with the little i have......at least for the kids sake!

This is the kind of news i hate hearing, and i'm sure that family will be left to suffer- upon all the thieving politicians and billionaires we have in this country; most of them will read this story and move to the next either thinking it's not their problem or that they're helping enough people already (not minding the fact they have idle millions/billions stashed away in the bank).

True talk. Some folks here just talk as if they don't have common sense. No one truly understands what the man went tru or the main reason why he committed sucide.

Depression ain't a good thing, even people who say ' No matter what, I will never commit suicide' are the ones who enagage in that act the most.

That's why it's always advisable to treat people nicely because everyone you come across is really fighting a hard battle.

This why we need to be our brothers keeper in this country. The neighbours were aware of his state of mind having lost his job. Did anyone offered to counsel him or offered any word of encouragement? we lost one good Nigerian yet again due to insensitivity of people around. Poor labour could also have contributed to this. In Nigeria anyone can just hire and fire at will.
