I keep saying this gal will win a medal for Nigeria in Moscow. She's just run 10.75s in 100m to come second to Frayser-Pryce. Wind not legal, but Blessing got her start right for the first time in a long long time, and the result is 10.75.

Wind is +2.2m/s which makes it illegal, so it will not be on record. But Blessing is looking good this season. At least she's proven she can break 10.80 barrier.

I am convinced now that she is capable of winning the gold medal, providing she doesn't choke.

The wind was just slightly over the legal limit of 2.0 m/s

The most impressive thing was she was closing down on Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce, who only just managed to beat her by less than half a metre.

Really impressed with her progress. She's the best Nigerian hope in sprinting at the moment by a mile!

By the way, what is the African female 100m record? Searched the Internet and can't find it. Are we that poor at record keeping in Africa?

Ah... eventually found it 10.90 by Glory Alozie. A 10.84 by Chioma Ajunwa is un ratified, probably due to doping.

She also has the fastest time so far in the 200m

And I think the 2nd longest long jump

There is potential for 3 gold medals .. providing she doesn't choke.

Providing the doesn't choke! *sigh* am tired of hearing that!
She won't choke jare ... *straight face*

Once she gets that start right like she did yesterdai ... Her height and speed will do d rest!

I doubt if she ll do 3 events at worlds ... That's certainly suicide. Am sure her coach won't allow that!

Depends on her coach, I personally would love to see her run the 200m. She has the finish. If she runs 200m and Long jump, we're guaranteed at least a gold in Moscow

She should focus on d 100 and 200, and 4get d long jump 4 now. D problem with d long jump would be her ability to qualify 4 d final. There are just so many good female long jumpers.

Gloria Alozie was another talented Nigerian. She won silver for Nigeria at 100mHurdles at the Sydney Olympics *she almost got gold tho* ... She later started running for spain after that bt neva really peaked again.
