I still feel bad for this country when I hear the kind of utterances that come out of the so called "Leaders of tomorrow"! If you don't want to attend why not keep shut and keep that to yourself! There is no compulsion in religion! But this is a public lecture which nobody will crucify you for going or not! What this lecture is all about is the peacecul coexistence of Muslims and Christains. You have your will to yourself. It's only if you go that you'all have the priviledge of asking question from a world renowned scholar in the field of comparative religion. As a non-muslim, I want to assure you that if you go, you will be given first priority to ask questions regarding all the misconceptions you have about Islam and Christianity!
Thanks

Many people in the world who were deceived into Christianity after hearing people like Dr. Zakir Naik are coming to the truth of Islam. Here in America so many people are leaving Christianity even some prominent Bible Scholars such as Yusuf Estes, Dr. Jerald Dirks, Dr. Bart Erhman, Imam Suhaib Webb and many others. The purpose of Dr. Zakir Naik coming to Nigeria is to invite all people to the word of God especially those who were misled and deceived into Christianity. He is not coming to start conflict but to show people the truth of which they dont know. I wish this will be the start of many Muslim scholars to start to come to Nigeria to hold open air lectures about the truths of Islam. While some Christians in Nigeria say we have no right to talk about Jesus they are wrong. Dr. Zakir Naik has every right to show people the truth of Jesus in the final revelation of God the Quran he has every right to dispute the distorted and corrupted teachings of the Bible. He has the right to show truth from error and the best way to do that is thru comparisons. His purpose is to not to down but to point out facts. While Christian missionaries use deceitful tactics and mind games and tricks to brainwash the masses Dr.Zakir Naik does not nor do we as Muslims do such things the truth stands clear from error no tricks and deception is needed by Muslim propagators to convert people to the truth. I invite all people to come out and listen to the truth to those who are showing hate i ask u why are u soo scared to increase your knowledge will set u free but knowledge that is based on truth (Quran) not the knowledge that is based on hearsay and conjecture and knowledge that was changed by people numerous times through out history(Bible)

careytommy : please provide us the Gospel according to Jesus if u can produce not the one that people wrote up 200 years later full of man made stories and folklore about Jesus. Show us the exact words of Jesus if u can not the words according to people who were not even with Jesus when he spoke the Gospels: U said that Jesus is the truth the way and life i agree in his time he was the truth and the way and the life just like Abraham was the truth and the way and the life in his time but the final and complete truth was given to Prophet Muhammad who came not to start a new religion but to finalize and complete the mission of Abraham, Jesus, Moses and Adam. God revealed the Quran to correct the false teachings of the Bible which is not the Gospels that Jesus actually spoke. The Quran is the final authority not the so called Bible a book that is full f distortions, errors and man made stories.

babyosiosi: u say we don't need Dr. Zakir Naik in Nigeria u say we don't need him to come to Nigeria? I ask you why is that your Christian Missionaries come to our lands to try to deceive people into converting to Christianity using all forms of lies and tricks and deceptions but now that a scholar of Islam is coming to invite u who dont know the truth to the truth u r saying is he is not welcome. It goes to show your double standard. Your Christian missionaries go all over the world to trick people and mislead people and they come to us we have the same right to send our scholars to u the only difference is we don't trick and deceive people as your missionaries do.

Same tired argument we heard a few years ago
"We have too many problems at this time - we don't need an Islamic Bank"
Next thing a National Christmas Tree financed with tax payers' money sprang up in Abuja
It was commissioned by Dame Patience Jonathan in the presence of Archbishops
And members of the diplomatic corps were dragged to the event

National Christmas Tree did not cause a whimper because unlike the vast majority of Christians, the overwhelming majority of Muslims believe in live and let live

Meaning: a reiigious event by Muslims can only cause crisis if Christians resort to their usual plots and scaremongering

Actually, Dr Zaik's peace event is what we really need at this time

This happened in 2012

http://www.channelstv.com/home/2012/12/23/first-lady-lights-first-national-christmas-tree/
Nigerians witnessed the first-ever lighting of the National Christmas Tree on Saturday night in Abuja.

Speaking at the event tagged “Let there be light”, Nigeria’s first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, urged Nigerians to embrace peace, unity and love during the Christmas season.

The Christmas Tree, which is 21 metres high, is strategically located at the Unity Fountain Park, besides the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja and adorned in the national colours of green, white and green.

The lighting of the First Nigerian National Christmas Tree by the Wife of the President was witnessed by the Minister of State for FCT, Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide; Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, John Onaiyekan; members of the National Assembly, wives of some Ministers, heads of ministries, departments and agencies of government, heads of secretariats, departments and agencies of the FCT Administration, diplomatic corps and the media, among others.

Mrs Jonathan urged Nigerians to live in peace and harmony as she noted that Christmas was a season for peace, reconciliation and love.

But in 2011, they had severally warned of the danger of promoting one religion over others

http://www.igbofocus.com/Islamic_Banking_in_Nigeria/islamic_banking_in_nigeria.html

According to Father Paul Anyansi: “We have too much religious tension and so, it could stir up some more. This is not the time for it. The policies for Islamic banking are good in the sense that there is no interest. It doesn’t go against the beliefs of the Islam. But what we are trying to say is that this country is not mature for it now.”

Anyansi argues that although Islamic banking is community banking, it portends more dangers than its benefits. Said he: “It could be as effective as it is in England, America, Malaysia or countries where it is operated but for now, we are still growing. A lot of people are not accepting their brothers as their brothers. They are not accepting the differences between religions. It will create more problems than gains.”

The president of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejeafor, also condemned the introduction of the banking system because it is a ploy to introduce Islamism into the country.
Many are of the view that CBN, which is the regulatory authority did not do much sensitisation before it was thrown at Nigerians with the result that some of the critics of the system do it from a position of ignorance.

However, Sanusi maintained that the product was an initiative of his predecessor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, who is a Christian and his deputy governor, Mr. Tunde Lemu, who is a pastor. According to him, he only implemented a project left behind by his predecessor.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/07/can-kicks-against-islamic-banking/

Delta State Chapter of CAN, which staged a peaceful protest along major roads in Warri, yesterday, said that Islamic banking was another way of Islamizing all Nigerians.

The placard-carrying protesters, who protested peacefully to Word of Life Bible Church in Warri, where the CAN’s President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, was the presiding pastor, lamented that the ploy by the CBN Governor to introduce Islamic banking in Nigeria was an affront on the other religious groups.

Addressing newsmen, Chairman, CAN, Delta State Chapter, Archbishop God-do-well Avwomakpa, called on President Godluck Jonathan to intervene in the matter.

“The church is aware of the dangers that this issue is going to cause and we are not going to compromise our faith as Christians. Nigeria belongs to all of us and we are saying ‘No’ to Islamization of Nigeria,” he said.

Is Christianity in Nigerian not fast turning to a religion of "Me-and-me-alone?"

Actually it is Christians that cling to Islam
How many threads about Christianity do we open. Compare that to your obsession with Islam through your threads
Although I believe you rapidly resort to attack so that we don't expose your mind-boggling issues
Go to the religious section and see how Christians, upon being attacked by atheists, quickly try to turn the arguments towards Islam
It is Christians that join with atheists to attack Islam
Rejoicing when France banned hijab
and I believe must both must be joyous now that gay marriage has been approved by that sick country

Of course, we are not SIMILAR to you
Do you see Muslims attribute disgraceful parenthood to Jesus (PBUH)?
or attribute disgusting deeds to God?

Look Muslims don't have the liver for the blasphemy contained in the Bible

I Seriously can't stop laughing!!! Look at how frustrated christians are raving. You guys don't really need to die- life is sweet abeg. You are free to attend and not to.

And seriously too, it should be a pleasure for every nigerian that this legend and his 17 year old son are setting their feet in Nigeria insha Allah. Well, maybe not a pleasure for nigerian pastors anyway, his presence will only bring retardation in the growth of their markets.

He's coming and there's nothing anyman can do to it.I wish him a mostly safe trip under the guidance of Allah, and pray he lives long enough in good health to keep helping people to the right path. I'll also say sorry to those who are affected by his presence or see his presence as a threat. Life os pretty guys, stop nagging!
