Nigeria take on Uruguay in their second group B match

The Uruguayans have one of the most dangerous attacks in the world, led by elite strikers Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez, while Nigeria finally lived up to its vast potential by winning this year's Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi may start Dynamo Kiev striker Brown Ideye after team-mates Anthony Ujah and Ahmed Musa struggled to convert chances against Tahiti.

Striker Nnamdi Oduamadi - who put four past the Polynesian island - is expected to keep his place, however.

In spite of his side's comfortable win last time out, Keshi knows they need to be more ruthless in front of goal.

``The performance I expected from the players was not what they gave. They did better than that against Mexico and Namibia and I expect them to even do more when they play Uruguay on Thursday,'' Keshi said.

``There are no (new) injuries to the players, because I have already lost four players (Victor Moses, Emmanuel Emenike, Ogenyi Onazi and Kalu Uche),'' he said.

Nigeria have only kept one clean sheet in their past five games, despite not having lost since May last year when Peru overcame the Africans 1-0 in Lima.

people don't fear..bolivia won uruguay 4-1 not too long ago. so, they are CERTAINLY beatable. I know Nigeria will sit up when playing uruguay. SE know uruguayan players more than tahiti players so they know who exactly to mark accordingly. We will probably defend and counter attack and we know uruguayan defenders are quite slow, so speed will be our friend in that game

Never make that mistake again.

The super eagles so far have been really unimpresive in there matches and I will strongly advice keshi to stop ecperimenting and start inviting quality players, witg this current crop of players at this tournament, Nigeria will be roundly trashed. What we saw againsht Taithi is nothing to be compared with what we should expect from other opponents. The supet eagles bench lacks quality players and you will agree with me that every quality coach wins the maych from the bench. Why invite homebased players when you know you wont feature them. As far as I am concerned apart from mikel, enyeama, omeruo, efe, godfery then maybe musa and oduamadi all others have reason to be in brazil. Keshis should be warmed to keep sentiments aside and start bringing in quality players. A wotf is enough for the wise.

Please, Keshi must play Musa...his runs is our only saving grace...forget his poor finishing....keshi must not bench Musa...Ideye should work on his finishing too, his better than Ujah...all we need do is win Uruguay, we are through to the KO stage...Up 9ja!
