Wamakko Calls PDP Chairman Bamanga Tukur A ‘political Prostitute', May Join APC by arcis: 6:51am On Jun 13, 2013 |
As the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) continues to come apart at the seams, one of its suspended governors, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto State, today came down hard and heavy on National Chairman Bamanga Tukur, denouncing him as a political prostitute whose mission is to destroy the party and north. Addressing a mammoth crowd at Government House, Wamakko said that people like Bamanga Tukur and Ahmed Gulak, the Special Adviser on Political Matters to the President, have no business in PDP and ought to be sacked by President Goodluck Jonathan. On his suspension from the PDP, Governor Wamakko vehemently dismissed the development, saying he has no regrets and no apology whatsoever.” Furthermore, he stressed, “I will never support Godswill Akpabio, the Chairman of PDP Governors Forum.” Wamakko called on Mr. Jonathan to bring back, Ahmadu Ali and Abubakar Kawu Baraje, to continue as Chairman and Secretary of the party. The governor, who was flanked by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Honourable Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, said, “When we took over PDP in 2011, the party has no single elected person from Sokoto state. Today we have won all the 234 seats of the Councilors as well as all the 23 local government chairmen. We have won all the 30 members of the state house of assembly, all the 11 members of the national assembly, all the 3 senators as well as the governor and his deputy, therefore the peoples of Sokoto state are ardent lovers and supporters of Alu not PDP.” Governor Wamakko’s scorched-earth criticism of his party’s chairman comes as sources say he may dump the PDP for the yet to be registered All Progressive Congress (APC). The sources said the governor held a closed-door meeting with Bola Ahmed Tinibu in Lagos upon his arrival from The Netherlands, where he attended an investment forum along with the Kwara State Governor, Ahmed Abdulfatah. The source confided a SaharaReporters correspondent that Wamakko spent over three hours with Tinubu to discuss the terms of his joining the APC. |

if this crisis is not well managed, pdp might as well kiss the north goodbye because with this outburst from wammako and tambuwal you can be rest assured he is in firm grip of the party in the state and it doesn't look like he can be dislodge by even TUKUR or GEJ and to make matters worse other northern governors might come out openly to voice their opposition to tukur who I feel is killing the party at a geometric progression. |

let them leave then. nobody forced them to remain in the pdp. politics is highly calculative game and unfortunately, the north allowed themselves to be edged out by obasanjo (who is now pretending to be on their side). |

its obvious you are not a keen follower of northern politics, how can you even list sokoto, kano or even kebbi as states where their governors don't control the party structure in the state even adamawa will be a total giveaway to APC by the time the crisis between NYAKO and TUKUR is not resolved because ACN is strong there and with the support of CPC PDP will be totally chased out of the state......WAKE UP BRO!!!! oxford: 1 Like |

kulikuli26: how divided are they pls?he can move to apc ,in 2011 election Buhari won the election in sokoto ,so it make no difference to gej's re-election .infact he worked against gej in the Election hence why Buhari won his state.all the northern state governors making noise on the pages of the newspapers ,not one single one of them delivered their state to gej .so they are irrelevant the middlebeltans that voted for him in the north in 2011 has already made it clear that they are not part of the so called north.and they are still behind him. So wamakko can quickly decamp his not needed. 1 Like |

Nyako is finding it difficult in Adamawa because his political base is been eroded by the day and He knows it. Kano state governor has not have it the best with the staunch opposition he has in Shekarau followers and as such He cannot lay claim to a good political base. All the PDP at the centre need do is a viable opposition for Wammako in Sokoto PDP who is capable of getting his current supporters to himself and the rest will be history but like the President is moving as at today's dailies, he is not ready to go that route yet until there is a viable person who can stand any situation in Sokoto Politics and in other states. All the drama is just unfolding but the PDP structure in Plateau State, Gombe State, Katsina State, Bauchi State, Adamawa State, Nassarawa State, Borno State (with the current SOE gains), Yobe State (SOE), Kebbi State, Zamfara State, Kogi State, Kwara State,Benue State, Ekiti, Lagos,Ondo, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Imo, Enugu, Anambra, Ebonyi,Abia, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross Rivers, Edo and Akwa Ibom will likely vote for a Jonathan ticket. I am not also ruling out the possibility of passing a single term of 6 years that will shift elections for governors and Presidents to 2017 thereby giving the North Automatic ticket on PDP platform. Whatever happens, the drama will be too DRAMATIC for words. 1 Like |

oxford: 100likes The fact is that even if all the northern governors quit PDP, the grassroots base of PDP is still very much strong. That's why the disloyal ones are finding it difficult to quit. |
