British Prime Minister, David Cameron, on Friday said his government might consider cutting off aid to Nigeria over same sex marriage bill passed by the House
of Representatives on Thursday. The Senate had passed its own version in November 2011.
Cameron spoke on aBritish Broadcasting Corporationprogramme monitored in Lagos.
He said he would take up the issue with President Goodluck Jonathan soon.
The prime minister said he would restate his government’s strong objection to the passage of the bill.
The prime minister was reacting to a question by a Nigerian resident in London, Bisi.
“When we meet with Nigerian politicians and leaders, we will be clear about those things we agreed on. We have to be clear where we disagree. We will make clear where we stand on those issues,” he said.
When asked whether Britain would consider stopping a projected 50 percent increase in aid to Nigeria or cutting it outright, Cameron said, “Nothing is off the table. We need tohave these conversations. We also have some very important objectives with Nigerians, for instance on how to deal with the appalling rates of poverty in Northern Nigeria, which are part of the problems confronting the country.”
Britain and some Western Nation had previously expressed oppositionto the bill.
Cameron had in October 2011 threatened to cut off aid to countries which ban gay and lesbians.

Nigeria that will soon become world power. Go to hell with their aids. A Nigerian is supposed to be the World Bank MD, US stopped her and used their person even when the Nigerian is more qualified. Its not their fault. It is because of our wasteful leaders and politicians. Yet time will come that they will seek the help of Nigeria.

What Mr Cameron fails to understand is that in Africa,there are things called "aru" abomination. We cannot continue to do follow follow to the detriment of our own society. Imagine how ugly a site it would be to see a man kissing his fellow man in our society. May God forbid this evil. Some bad eggs among us would even go to the extent of using gun and machete to rape their fellow man. Any gay/lesbian caught should be taken to a rehabitation center. That act is a mental illness on it'self

I can't believe this, this is the evil world we are coming to, they call themselves Christians, yet they r blatantly telling us to commit a grave sin and an evil act, let me tell you something, the European governments are no longer run by Christians, but by Satanists, after all, only people that worship Lucifer himself can ask for such a thing. I have to agree with sheyie2007 "Who cares shove ur aid up Elizabeth's asss"

@Post

They should keep their aid. With all the money Nigeria has made over the years through oil, why should Nigeria keep taking monetary aid from the West? Later on, we will brag that we are the giant of Africa. What type of 'giant' receives aid?
