Hmmm...just saw the short film...for an experimental purpose...this is actually nice. I loved the concept...though the actors can do better.

I no sabi lighting and oda tinz sha so make I keep quiet before oga (Villageboi) flog me.

I also liked the score.

Too long to explain. In a nutshell take it as something that doesn't have to follow the 'norm' in any way, shape or form! It doesn't have to have a story, a concept infacy it CAN just be a black screen for as long as the author wants.

After you watch a film of a leaf blowing in the wind for 10mins; you'll pretty much like this as an experimental film.

Lol, why I go flog you? Nothing wrong with the lighting as it's experimental. But I guess you mean the blown-out highlights? From all the clips shown I'm guess he wanted to do that either in-cam or in post. It might have a meaning and it might not.

Just the other day a friend of mine showed me her 'experimental' short - it was 7 mins of three small snails on the ground followed by 2 mins of them crawling away - It's something that would bore one silly until you get to know what it means...
She is a dance teacher and the kids she teaches are always in a rush; she shows them the film every now and then to calm them down and make them realise there is no rush... it is 'slow' and takes years before you can become a good ballet dancer - and the kids get it. Now the film makes sense.

So yeah, anything in experimental films can 'seem' strange. I like that this one even has a 'story'. And you've figured out I really dig the Tom-Tom touch mmmmmmm.

No be joke, we watched a ton of those during our first year and absolutely HATED them all... we thought they were such a waste of time; but then we had not learned anything about experimental films.
