Goodday tech gurus, am thinking of upgrading my Dell Inspiron 5040 windows 7 3gb Ram, 300gb hard disk, 2.1GZ processor 32bit OS laptop to windows 8, but need some clarifications.
(1) What is the major difference btw windows 7 and windows 8?
(2) What would i be missing if i upgrade to windows 8?
(3) Is my laptop good enough to run windows 8 OS?

benefits of windows 8 includes smooth ui,faster shutdown n boot time,low cpu usage,games runs faster,easy acess to windows store,games etc note:am using windows 8

I am also using windows 8 pro and I must state that the experience has been fantastic, and more interesting, it is on a touch screen laptop.

Windows 8 was made mainly for the touch screen laptops; that's why the touch screen guys would enjoy it more.

Computers are @ their best when they operate on the Originally installed OS.

Upgrading the version can make it perform better but changing it totally to a new OS can be a call for trouble.

Am using windows 8 on my lappi that is not up to your own. Dell inspiron 1420. See d pic am on Win 8 pro build 9200, its d best OS so far. I started with win 3.0, then 3.11 then 3.11 for work-groups, win 95, 97 with internet xplrer, ME, xp, vista, 7 and now the best of them all Windows 8.
