Boko Haram Storms Boarding School In Yobe, Kills 30 Students

Showing contempt for the state of emergency in effect in Yobe State, suspected Boko Haram militants today stormed a boarding school and killed 30 students.

A credible military source in Nigeria who confirmed the attack to to SaharaReporters said the incident occurred at the Government Secondary School in the town of Mamudo at about 2am. The militants seem to have regrouped in a commando style to carry out the butchery, some of the victims reportedly burned alive despite soldiers all over the place enforcing the military emergency.

In addition to the dead, many others incurred serious injuries and were rushed to hospitals in Damaturu, the state capital.

One teacher, our source said, is among those killed. Troops have now been deployed to the area, but the incident calls to question the strategy being employed by the military in their implementation of the state of emergency, and how much success they have actually achieved so far.

I 1der what measure is put in place 2 checkmate d activities of this sect. Isn't there suposed 2 be a strict curfew especially @ night to restrict movements? How could d sect have successfully carried out dis attack around 2am if curfew was in place and d JTF actually doing their job? I ve said it over and over dat d only solution to dis Boko Haram menace is 4 GEJ to suspend the state of emergency, appologise to the Northern Elders forum, dialogue and grant Boko Haram Amnesty, rebuild all mosque. The military can't win d war cos 80% of Boko Haram are from d SS, SE and SW and are christians who are used to tannish d image of d North and kill our people but Allah will fight 4 d North and vindicate us.
Many of d Boko Haram sponsors are from d SS, SE and SW all in d name of Power but the North must complete there remaining 4yrs come 2015.
I urge Nigerians to support Buhari 4 a change and better Nigeria.
