Thanks for the response and concern, where to travel to depends on the majority because its not a personal thing but its will be better to be a group decision. So the location will be decided by majority moreso we will have to consider somethings like time, money and conviniency

@justwise thanks for your response also, i know that the issue of accountability might be issue, but i think that for accountability sake, anything that concern money will be handled by everybody because i'm not ready to collect any money from anyone

its a good idea, the problem as always, remains the extremely high number of scammers, 419ers and otherwise unsavoury characters who are always on the lookout for potential victims.

its not the type of trip that should be taken with random strangers, you dont know their reason for organizing such.

in developed countries, it might be less risky, but in nigeria, unless there's a guarantee in the form of long acquaintance or something (dunno, since even that isnt foolproof), not too advisable.

however, to each his own.

Milked? I came up with that thread and the idea never even took off, no funds or anything collected from anybody. Just went through the thread again and someone mentioned VIP Express scamming them. That is just the name of a company, just like anyone saying wakanow scammed them.
Please read through properly. No one scammed anyone based on the idea.

Cool idea. I'm down. let's hope, unlike me, you would have time to get things off the ground though. Cheers

am in too... I have been waiting for a tour of West Africa, at least most of them are Visa free to us. Although the more the merrier but we don't have to be thousands of people for this trip to work. Let's set an agreed minimum number of people and if we get that we can decide on our budget, logistics, mode of travel, motive etc. I said motive, because we may have to achieve something from the trip besides pleasure. we can decide to design projects and programmes to implement in any of the visited country during the trip and seek support, sponsorship and donations from corporate bodies and individuals. we may set up a blog or website besides update on Nairaland to make it interactive and to update our followers. we may even document it in writings, still pictures and audiovisuals. We may also have to learn a little language besides English. Let us make decisions fast before it will be discouraged by some negative driven individuals.

Sadly you created the opportunity while some bogus members here took advantage of that.

Yours started just like this one, a lot of interest but that was just about it

ahahahh.... bros, nice imput... but d concepts u are bringing in will make d tour a complex one! what d op. wanted was just a simple trip around (some) neighbouring west african countries, not (all) * op! am i in line with ur view?* with some group of like minds... just 4 few days... dis ur own concepts may take weeks or months... d easiest dat can b achieved within d tour is taking camera shots of some interesting place or video. and little documentation.

Uncle, I nor sure say me with you read the same thread.
How was an opportunity to scam created by the thread? Except there was a report elsewhere that no one else is familiar with then perhaps you need to go read it one more time.
A nairaland member saw the name of a suggested travel company and yelled foul, just as a warning to others to beware of said company.
Nothing was organised and no plans ever took off.
Fas as I know, no one got scammed directly or indirectly from said thread.

Done.

Aunty, read the 4th post in that thread, you were planning that with ojdollars, he introduced the company( Vip Express Tourism Ltd)that people alleged that scammed them

Am down for any of the travel options. I only made a suggestion which I think will be more adventurous and interesting. However even if we want to tour the west African countries we may not do it once. we may go to few countries at a time depending on consensus, the available time and resources.
