I'm wondering if anyone has heard about a plant called Ngwulu in Igboland.

Is it "Ngwulu" or "Ngwu" ? There are other sacred tree like the "Offor" tree and "Aluanyasi". These plant I mentioned are used in sacred practices like cleasing and burial rituals.
