My God. All of us are ignorant of one thing or the other.
Smart people keep quiet
Dunces expose that ignorance for all to see.

OP belongs to the second school.
You are comparing the cost of one of the longest bridges in west Africa ,constructed in a built up area ,to the cost of an ordinary road of equivalent distance.
KAI .which way Nigeria.
Re: CORRUPTION, WASTE & HYPOCRISY. Lagos-ibadan Express Road Construction, Compared. by sEyi6: 6:23pm On Jul 08, 2013
grin grin
OP if I am not wrong, you are comparing the cost of building a suspended bridge that has its base and its whole structural members in the water
With the cost of a 126.7km road with a flyover on a plain dry ground that is to be widen halfway on an existing route?
Lol...

Compare the pictures below this post and judge yourself.
The fist pic is the Lekki-ikoyi link bridge and the later is the existing Lagos-Ibadan expressway that is to be widen and renovated

Good people great nation cheesy

If Lagos build 1.3km suspended bridge at 30billion naira, then we have to say something about Fg that is building 1.8km 2nd niger bridge at 100 billion naira. Also bicotney was contracted to build Lagos-Ibadan expressway @ 90billion naira but oga jona want to construct it at 167billion.
Bottomline,
Corruption is inevitable in ds country but to deliver those infrastructure is what matter most for now.

22 billion per km of bridge by the Lagos govt.

1.3 billion per km of ordinary road by the FG.

Summary, they are all thieves.
We the masses simply choose the thieves will like more and support them, screaming on the top of our voices that our beloved thief is a saint. While calling the other one we do not like, thief.

not long ago, benchmark price for a km of trunk A road was less than 10 million naira, That was during Obasanjo's 1999 to 2003 term. Now a km of road is in billions, very sad

Nope . Because yours are stealing does mean others are.
Below is a link for you to peruse.
In fact, after going through the list, this ikosi bridge is even cheaper than many of her peers considering that the cost of cement and the lack of competition in the construction industry.

Em, bros, abeg stop it! Dude is right. They are all thieves and everyone hails their thieves in Nigeria. Problem is, some thieves will actually deliver the project even if they inflate the prices, while the GEJ illiterate, riverine-cowboy camp will over-inflate and still not deliver anything.

I expect you to support your favourite leader, whoever he is, whether he is from pdp or apc. I also expect you to scream on the top of your voice that your favourite leader is a Saint, when actually he is just a common thief like the rest of them.

What will actually surprise me about you is if you genuinely believe in your heart that the governor of your state or your local government chairman or whatever leader you align with is a Saint. That will be the height of delusion.
