This will allow the president to appoint a disciplined and competent sole administrator to oversee the affairs of Rivers State until the tense situation is brought under control, and law and order is restored for the benefit of residents of Rivers State who have been at the receiving end of the regime of lawlessness prevailing in the state.

The situation in Rivers State is deteriorating daily, and if unchecked, may degenerate into full-blown socio-political crisis that will certainly have harmful consequences for the good people of Rivers State - with potentially dangerous repercussions for the rest of the country. As such, I implore Mr. President to act NOW to avert further breakdown of law and order.
