Excellent Job, Please can you explain why: - you opted for a concrete slab instead of interlocking tiles for the way? - How does the perimeter drain pipe work? How is it best installed? - Is that an inspection chamber on the drive way (the area you covered with a marine wood) I intend to steal some of your concepts brabus: Trenching in utilities |

Please can you explain why: - you opted for a concrete slab instead of interlocking tiles for the way? COST! Although, I already have some concrete paving stones prepared for the driveway. I just decided to go for the concrete after seeing the inspiration picture. - How does the perimeter drain pipe work? How is it best installed? The perimeter drain pipe is installed around the foundation of a house to draw water that would otherwise sit around the foundation and possibly prevent ground/surface water from damaging the foundation. It should be installed at a lower level than DPC so as to prevent capillary action. - Is that an inspection chamber on the drive way (the area you covered with a marine wood) No, it is a well. We dug it at the beginning of the project. I intend to steal some of your concepts. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Before and After Pics - The Well I dug the well before the commencement of the main project. However, we found out that it was standing right in the middle of the land and the driveway. The well has served us so well and in fact its serving the house and neighbours for domestic water use. Here's what we did to the well.
