Please could someone tell me what extension for a domain name is kind of good for an information technology News website ??

.net, .com , or which is better?

.com - for sites that generate money

.net - Internet service providers

.org - Non-profit organizations

.tv - TV stations

.ng - could use this so that pple know up front that your site is naija-based

I beleive .tv actually "belongs" to Tuvalu like .ng is for Nigeria. TV stations just use it because it "communicates" some information to the user.

.com is the best extension for any site. if you choose any other extension, you should get the .com also.

Since it's for news, you can consider .info  But then I hate it, I think it's too odd.

Get a dot com because most people are used to typing .com so your propective visitors are likely to type abcdef.com first before remembering its abcdef.biz

remember to get it right because adresses on the net are tigtly packed and almost anything u type will leade u somewhere. I once had a problem with www.talkorigin.org and www.talkorigins.org . Same with www.ccnn.com and www.cnn.com. Also with www.nairaland.+net and www.nairaland.com

All in all make sure u also have a .com. My church's site christembassy should be .org but we have a .com as well
