This is not MTN, Airtel, glo, etisalat etc fault.
The networks are still not robust enough to offer larger bandwidth to subscribers.
What happen is that to maintain perculiar efficient blackberry service, RIM allow network providers to channel all data from their devices through their servers. With this, network providers are able to grant voluminous data to blackberry subscribers cos it is not passing through their servers.

Granting non-BB subscribers such data freedom officially through their servers would simply overwhemled network providers' servers and bring internet service to a crawl.

The issue can be solved if google or samsung could provide a specialized server just like that of RIM for BB, then network providers would simply channel all data from Android devices through the access point: google.com and open unlimited downloads for android devices. Simple
For now, manage with DroidVPN or any other till internet cost comes down.
Total rubbish.. Can you please tell us Mr Internet Savvy guy, how does the vast majority of android and IOS users in developed countries browse, because the last time I checked this country isn't d only place where androids are used.

i mad as i finish 260mb within 5hrs is not easy paying 1k my brother. is better to forget this browsing stuff before this criminal network dry my pocket i support this movement

Good move yeah ,I think there must be a dedicated plan for android users,since they know that android is the trend now,even if they would give us unlimited package for a so caalled amount its better than their cheat data plan.....will rerport to NCC tOo.

Why are people envious of BB data plan. And creating a camping for special data plan. Now that all network is blocking all BB tweak on other device. Hope you get ahead way in your quest for a new data package. Or we can pressure our govt to subsidise Data like they do fuel. Wish you guys luck

I had to uninstall almost all my apps because of this nonsense. This is freaking annoying. Please modify the topic to include all networks. I'm even browsing without images on, that's how bad it is. cheesy

Honestly, I don't see the reason why data services can't be reasonably priced in this country. MTN, Glo, Eti and Airtel have no excuse.

The talk of bandwidth surprises me. They make billions of naira every year yet they can't upgrade to the latest level in telecoms.

We still struggle to get 2Mb/s Internet speed just because some Ogas at the top are bent on cheating Nigerians. Enough is enough, I support the protest.

1Gb worth of data at N1000 is manageable. Let's start from there.

i have also thought of this on my own but i never new that lot of you are also angry on this one just lke i do! It quite good that we are collectively taking a stand on this, am in support of this.we cant continue to be victims of services providers own negligience and lack of improvement,we can't continue to pay through our nose just because we are android users,its either they give us a reasonable data service or nothing else!
