Wike & Others Visit Micheal Chinda In London Hospital by abu12: 11:26pm On Jul 20, 2013
Former Chief of Staff to governor Rotimi Amaechi and current Nigerian deputy minister of education has led a delegation of factional members of the People's Democratic Party in Rivers State to visit injured Rivers lawmaker Michael Chinda in a London hospital.

Mr. Wike is the arrowhead of the plot by President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience to destabilize Rivers State and remove the state governor.

Mr. Chinda was severely injured after a pro-Amaechi lawmaker and majority leader of Rivers State of Assembly, Chidi Lloyd severally smashed a wooden mace on his head and jaws on July 9th 2013 as a group of five lawmakers tried unsuccessfully to impeach the speaker ofthe house.

See full text of the press release issued from London regarding the visit led by Mr. Wike below:

Prominent leaders of Rivers State from across political and professional divides on Saturday visited the member representing Obio/Akpor State Constituency 2 at the Bupa Cromwell Hospital in London, United Kingdom, where the legislator is recuperating from head and jaw surgeries carried out on him by medical expertsin the health facility.

Those visited the injured lawmaker include; Minister of State for Education, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Austin Opara, President of Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Chief Okey Wali (SAN), Former Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, National Treasurer, Mr Kenneth Kobani, Former Transport Minister, Dr Abiye Sekibo, Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah and a former Commissioner in Rivers State, Mr. Bonny Iyaye.

The leaders were grateful to God for the survival of Hon. Michael Chinda despite the vicious knocks he received from the mace-wielding Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Mr. Chidi Lloyd. They condemned the brutal physical assault sufferedby Hon. Chinda, saying that such violence mustnot be witnessed again in the state.

It will be recalled that Hon. Micheal Chinda received life-threatening injuries on his head and jaw after the Rivers State Majority Leader, Hon. Chidi Lloyd freely attacked him with the House Mace with the assistance of security details of Governor Chibuike Amaechi of RiversState.

Speaking after the visit to the injured lawmaker and his family, Minister of State for Education, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike called on the constituents of the lawmaker to remain calm; pointing that justice will be done in the matter.

He said: “It is very unfortunate that such injury could be inflicted on a fellow human being. I remember that the man who carried out this barbaric act claimed that some people don’t have integrity. We can now see the kind of integrity he has.

We are happy that the Honourable Member is alive. I want to call on his constituents and I am one of them, to remain calm. I know how Hon. Chinda is dear tothem, but at the end of the day, justice will be done.”

Rt. Hon. Austin Opara, a former deputy speakerof the House of Representatives expressed happiness that the lawmaker has been stabilized health wise, but said that it was unfortunate that the Rivers State Governor is yet to see anything wrong with the injuries inflicted on the lawmaker.

Former Minister of Transport, Dr Abiye Sekibo while condemning the brutal injury inflicted on Hon. Chinda, said all well meaning Nigerians must rise to condemn such pre-meditated act of violence in the interest of the nation’s political growth.

He said: “All of us must condemn what happened. It doesn’t matter on which side of the political divide that we find ourselves. Governors who see this kind of barbarism and fail to condemn it, but choose to turn it to political drama will not be forgiven by history”.

Rivers State PDP Chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah regretted that despite the devastating attack on a State lawmaker by the State House Majority Leader, Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is yet to ask after the welfare of the lawmaker, choosing instead to host series of solidarity visits from governors at the expense of the depleting resources of Rivers State.

Former ACN National Treasurer, Mr Kenneth Kobani said that whoever supports the acts of pre-meditated violence perpetrated against theRivers State lawmaker needs his conscience examined.

“Our common duty is to ensure that we do not support this kind of evil. It is shocking that even as we speak, those who carried out this evil act are still going about justifying the evil. That tells you the deplorable state that our state has fallen to” Kobani lamented.

Simeon Nwakaudu,
Special Assistant (Media) to Minister of State for Education

This minister should be more concern about ASUU STRIKE for now instead of him to channel all his energy on this rivers state crises. IMO this is negligence of his duty, the retardeen has to call him to order. It is a shame to see a federal minister encouraging rascality and supporting 5 lawmaker who want to impeach 27 lawmaker, what message is he passing across. To the extend they take their dirty to a UK hospital SMH.

This democracy is getting worse.

Look at the fools flying to London to visit their comrade at the expense of the masses claiming someone is depleting resources. Money wasted on this jamboree by these touts will be enough to fix the dilapidated Chinda by Ikwerre road extension.

Northern Governors visit to Gov Amaechi
in Rivers state. Amaechi and President
Jonathan.
By Nwoseh Clifford, Port Harcourt.
Yesterday, some Northern governors who
has been kicking against the status quo
or acting as the opposition with the
ruling party visited our state capital in
what they termed as a solidarity visit to
Governors Chibuike Amaechi.
As a recurring decimal, this pattern of
using Niger delta political leaders and
dumping the at the last minute is now a
serious concern to River state and Niger
Delta people.
This calls to the question, "Why is it that
the North will always look for one foolish
Niger Delta Governor to use their oil
money any time their quest for power
arises?
(1) Atiku use Diepreye Alameyeseigha
with a promise of making him, his Vice
president.
(2) The Northern leaders finish Rivers
money on the same promise of making
Odili Peter president and later dump him.
(3) James Ibori single handedly funded
Umaru Yar-Adua presidential election
with our money and today where is Ibori.
(4) Now is Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi turn.
When the gods want to finish someone
they will first make him blind and deaf.
When will Niger Delta Governors and
people learn from past Governors that
were used and dumped as a result of
their greed and insensitivity.
Amaechi's problem in Rivers state
started even before President Goodluck
Jonathan becomes the Nigerian
President. In 2002/2003, Amaechi won
PDP governors primaries and President
Obasanjo and his cohort stopped him
from taking the ticket.
Another man contested the primaries
again and and won the general election.
The Supreme Court gave Amaechi victory
for an election he NEVER contested. This
is the genesis of his problem in Rivers
state, as he came back to victimise his
opponents.
As a result of his greed and faceless
ambition, he has been wasting state
funds, paying bloggers, Newspaper
houses, disgruntled Politicians across the
country to discredit President Goodluck
Jonathan for an offense the Nigerian
President don't even know when it
started and some people are buying it as
a fact.
As some of the protesting banners wrote
yesterday, "If Amaechi want to leave
PDP, no one is stopping him, but using
state funds to cause disturbance and go
round to cry victim is what we will not
tolerate any more".
For the visiting Governors and other
opposition groups, your signatures is
now clearer, as the people fueling the
problem in Rivers state. How many times
have any of you visited Borno, Yobe,
Adamawa or even Bauchi states to
felicite with people, who are under the
attack of Boko Haram and were kept
indoors as a result of the state of
emergency?
Whatever is your ulterior motive, we
must meet somewhere and sometime.
Remember the Niger delta proverb, that
said, "don't forget that a man wey dey
cry, dey see". - Hope For Nigeria.

The money expanded in that elephant project called monorail could have built the road you spoke of.

Consider what 45million dollars could have done if judiciously used other than a plane that doesn't generate revenue.

These people are just shameless. Their cup is getting full and they would soon know that we are not fools afterall.

Permit me to quote one Toyin Adekunle on the same story on SaharaReporters. He has said it all:

Wike and the govt he serves must cover themselves in shame. So, ordinary injury cannot be treated by their much publicized improved hospital services in Nigeria. Wike and his group of imbeciles went all the way to London to see an injured man. If U.K govt are running their own country like the morons that are running govt in Nigeria, will Wike's gang member be able to obtain 1st class health care in U.K.

Jonathan, his health Minister & all his co-vagabonds running Nigeria should cover their faces in shame. Shame on them all.

Wike is already a loser. He wants to be d next governor after Amaechi in Rivers state. Amaechi has tld him severally dat after him Amaechi, power will be shifted to another zone in Rivers state. Either Ogoni or Kalabari area. He is just a joker. Even d underground plot by patience Jonathan to install his brother will never work. D game plan is, impeach d speaker, and put Evan Bipi as d new speaker. After that, impeach Amaechi and his deputy Tele Ikuru and have Evans Bipi sworn in as d new Governor. And dis will make him remain there till 2015 where he will contest with d backing of GEJ and Patience Jonathan to become d next Governor in Rivers state. Wike will be used and dumped. He shld see d handwriting on d wall.
