I'm sorry, but there's nothing spectacular or breathtaking about these pictures. But kudos to the state govt anyway.

A hospital is as good as the quality of doctors and medical equipment in it. A fine building doesn't necessarily mean a quality hospital. Rich people get treated in their homes by specialists everytime.

Kwarrect. Op, you have to confess that most residents of makurdi prefer to go to N A F medical center further down gboko road. Don't come here and deceive people with these Suswam pictures

@intercom you obviously know nothing about benue. I doubt if you actually visited here.

Banue is not big? We have 7 neighbours! Cross river, ebonyi, enugu, kogi, nasarrawa, taraba and cameroon.

Benue state has no farm? We are the largest producer of yam, casava, soya beans etc. We have a different variety of mango including a mango that is as big is your head! I am not exagerating.

Pls know more about the north. People who say the north is nothing should know that if the north were an independent country, it would have being food sufficient.we are not parasites afterall. The real parasites are people in the south, fact!

Actually what You need is not Someone to educate You,You only Need Someone to give You Five Slaps with a Kick to Your Head,You Pass a state by the Federal road in a wrecked bettle car and Conclude everything about the entire State, which You did not enter but just pass using the federal road.
intercom: Passing through benue state the first time, i discovered that the state is not (1) Big, (2) development is just within the university and the Dunamis church area, (3) other places are very poor (4) could not see any farm land, i was wondering why are there called "Food basket of the nation". please some one should educate me the more.

I sincerly hope the facilities aren't just built for sight-seeing but adequately maintained. Health is wealth and as such man can only become better productive if his health isn't compromised. Kudos to the state government.

U are clearly an anti Suswam Character. How can u say the palce was 80percent completed before Suswam becam governor..

leave stupid sentiments that will get you no where aside, the contract for the teaching hospital was awarded and significantly executed by the Akume administration (Suswam has never claimed that project)!!

like I said before, aside structures and beautiful location, I dare you to name well qualified medical personnel in that place besides the CMD and one or two staff! I dare you to name where the CT scan/MRI machine(s) or any equipment of that nature is located!!

for a hospital, the finishing in that place is nothing to write home about, PVC ceilings are used in the medical wards(PVC generates heat), and they are no AC's in the wards!! the generator(s) don't run past twelve midnight.

MEDIOCRACY SHOULDN'T BE YOUR INSIGNIA(SIC)

But you clearly brought sentiments into this thread , do I need to remind U that U were the one who came on this thread about a hospital and brought in politics by mentioning names of who what percentages or the other in a clear bid to tarnish any little image that is left of the current administration. abeg park ur keke well joor
Re: Benue State University Teaching Hospital In Pictures. by dominique(f): 1:49pm On Jul 31, 2013
Edoyad, you have a point. NAF base and BSUTH are not too far apart (both on gboko road). People will rather go there for treatment than BSU. I even know of a well-off family that goes for treatment 3 hours away in abuja, absolutely unecessary imo. Really wish I can visit the state again to see how far its developed since I left it.

you must be a well certified daft not to know that when ever a state government is mentioned in a thread and pictures of achievements follow, the present occupant of the seat(governor) is assumed to be working!!

As evident from the responses on this thread, most assume that the hospital is a project that has been recently carried out, which is not the case!

I don't need to "tarnish any little image", I only need to state the facts as they are. Structures don't treat the sick, well trained personnel with the assistance of relevant equipment do that!! a 6 bed hospital with state of the art, up to date equipment and all round qualified and experienced staff is by a thousand miles better than 250 bed hospital with recently out of school graduates and no equipment.

Considering how knowlegeable you are as regards healthcare, I suspect you're a doctor. The two most important aspects of healthcare quality are experience of medical personnel and quality of equipment.

why is benue dependent on allocation? How has benue utilized it's status as food basket of the nation to develop it's economy? Rivers state is not a agricultural state but the shonghai farm in tai LGA is amongs the best in the country and pumping revenue into the government. How many facilities like this does the benue state government run? Allocation my foot.

this is not another opportunity to measure your dick this is about benue state teaching hospital. not an avenue for you to compare it with irrelevant issues.

If you are so passionate about your state/ politics open a thread to promote it. and dont bring politics into this thread my concern if how governance is impacting on the ordinary man.

Benue's internally generated revenue recently hit 6bn naira monthly, bulk of which came from the agricultural produce revenue agents, is the shongai farm in Tai matching to that?

6 billion and it can't afford a decent teaching hospital. Rivers state internally generated revenue from shionghai, risopalm and the buguma poultries not to talk of the others is currently running to 5 billion. Note that rivers state is'nt a farming state. The soil is'nt good for farming.

do you get a kick when you lie to yourself? the shongai farm in Rivers has not been fully completed,as the processing complex is still under construction!!

production wise, they are 400 pigs, 48 ponds with 2000 fish each, aqua culture capacity is 50,000tons, the arable section with 60 hectares of land for rice is for the meantime cultivated and used as feed for poultry!!

every other thing is still in the infant stage!!

if this is what gives you 5bn monthly then I think you serouusly need your head examined!!

The highest Rivers has received as internally generated revenue is 9.5billion naira and that was in march, the average internal revenue of Rivers is between 5-6billion naira bulk of which comes from taxes on oil multinationals!!
