It all depends on the requirements of each individual Nation. The J-10B is a 4++ fighter aircraft, with general improved performance over the basic J-10A. It's range is double that of the basic model, avionics and combat suite are state of the art, it comes with an AESA radar and improved armaments.

The SU-30 is one of the best fighters in it's class, however like a high class chick it requires high class maintenance.
J-10B > JF-17.

In terms of performance the SU-30 is great, I just hate its high cost maintenance cost.

Then it would make sense to Nigeria acquiring amphibious like light amphibious tanks and other vehicles of that class.

Tracked vehicles are heavily armoured increasing their weight.
pls i know you guys mean well but pls try to do research before you post. Tracks have more advantages over wheels. Better armour, larger vehicle footprint (that means it wont sink in the mud), it is meant to escort tanks, cannot be disabled easily by shooting the tracks, better cross country mobility, besides ifv's are not meant to chase down terrorist, thats for helicopters etc

This is a recent unreported ambush in which ethiopia in somalia including somalia national army lost dozens of troops, equipment and weapons, this is a serious setback to AMISON effort to defeat alshabaab considering the recent successes by kenya army in their sector .RIP to the fallen. no graphic photos posted http://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2015/06/shabaab-releases-images-from-the-ambush-of-ethiopian-troops.php#

Until their is actual, factual and open evidence on the ground, i'm simply done with speculating.

They are expendable, nothing will happen. They'll most likely be taken out by an Air asset or a bigger gun.

This is just a tiny victory for the terrorists to gloat over.

Amisom still represents an ongoing strategic victory for the A.U and Africans at large on the ongoing war against terrorism on the continent. This ambush is just a tiny setback for AMISOM, nothing they cannot shake off.

Why not, it's a deal with massive sweetners. The Egyptians got a very good deal from the french, both in financing and it's related infrastructure.

This is simply the best period for Nations(especially those in Africa) to buy Fighter jets.

The Egyptians are also getting FREMMs.

the problem is their convoy was only protected by one WZ551 which was easily taken out with an I.E.D ,while the rest light skinned trucks and land cruiser technical could not offered protection from an enemy who had encircled them and hiding in the bush thicket .i hope ethiopia will now be more proactive by bring in more of their assets e.g Hind and warplanes in the fight against alshabaab .

Every soldier and equipment is precious.

But yes, it is indeed a tiny victory when we look at it from a strategic point of view.

AMISON is in full control of events. This is simply a reaction from the negative forces.

They just have to see the need for MRAPS or more armour like the Ugandans and to a large extent KDF does.

With better armour the ambush would surely have played out differently. Air assets are a significant force multiplier, but we simply cannot call in one at every ambush. It is just not affordable.

Doing things properly from ground up, i.e, providing adequate protection to troops on the ground remains the most practical step.

Every life taken is irreplaceable, i simply do not agree for equipment, especially when said equipments are lorries, APC/IFVs. For how long can the terrorists keep the IFV going, can they afford them, replacement parts, fuel and ammo?

Strategically, the ambush is not even a significant setback.

this is exact the same way they came back in 2006 riding on their Ural trucks and suffered the same fate in the streets of mogandishu.this time they came with their ethiopia made armoured vehicle which look similar to israel Wolf Armoured Vehicle but they seems to be few
