To SLUMP means to collapse or fall heavily.
Was just thinking of the high rate of death due to slumps,and decided to do a compilation on the Causes and Preventive measures.
I hope this can help in creating awareness and reduce the "killer disease" eating deep in our society.

CAUSES AND PREVENTIVE MEASURES OF SLUMPS

FATIGUE;
Fatigue, also referred to as tiredness, exhaustion,it describes a physical and/or mental state of being tired and weak. Although physical and mental fatigue are different, the two often exist together - if a person is physically exhausted for a long time, they will also be mentally tired. When somebody experiences physical fatigue, it means they cannot continue functioning at their normal levels of physical ability.
If care is not taken,one may collapse due to fatigue.

Anyone who is overworked or not getting enough sleep at night can feel tired towards the end of the day. A good nights' sleep and eating healthier foods can help in preventing it.

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE;
Blood pressure is the measure of the force of blood pushing against blood vessel walls. The heart pumps blood into the arteries (blood vessels), which carry the blood throughout the body. High blood pressure, also called hypertension, is dangerous because it makes the heart work harder to pump blood to the body and contributes to hardening of the arteries, or atherosclerosis, and to the development of heart failure.
High blood pressure usually has no signs or symptoms, so the only way to know if you have high blood pressure is to have yours measured. However, a single high reading does not necessarily mean you have high blood pressure. Many things can affect your blood pressure through the day, so your doctor will take a number of blood pressure readings to see that it stays high over time.
Your chances of having high blood pressure increase as you get older.
if you:
are overweight
have a relative with high blood pressure
eat a lot of salt
don't eat enough fruit and vegetables
don't do enough exercise
drink a lot of coffee (or other caffeine-based drinks)
drink a lot of alcohol
are aged over 65
If you fall into any of the groups listed above, consider making changes to your lifestyle to lower your risk of high blood pressure. Also consider having your blood pressure checked more often.

STRESS;

Stress is the feeling of being under too much mental or emotional pressure.
Pressure turns into stress when you feel unable to cope. People have different ways of reacting to stress, so a situation that feels stressful to one person may be motivating to someone else. It's important to recognise the symptoms of stress early.
Spotting the early signs of stress will also help prevent it getting worse and potentially causing serious complications, such as high blood pressure.
There is little you can do to prevent stress, but there are many things you can do to manage stress more effectively, such as learning how to relax, taking regular exercise and adopting good time-management techniques.

IRREGULAR MEDICAL CHECK-UPS;
It is essential and important to visit a Medical Practitioner on a regular basis.
It involves a medical history, a (brief or complete) physical examination and sometimes laboratory tests.
This will help detect and prevent an abnormal condition in the body.

OBESITY/OVER-WEIGHT;
Excess weight causes more shortness of breath even at rest.
The extra fat at the mid section and back is too close to the heart, putting pressure on the diaphragm, lungs and heart. The heart must pump harder to provide the correct amount of blood and oxygen through the body. The body needs to transport a specific amount of oxygen to vital organs. This weight can cause a person to slump and die, due to more pressure on the diaphragm and lungs.
Some foods that we desire such as candy, cookies, pies, cakes, and a multitude of snack foods all contribute to being overweight.

Note:Let us all endeavour to eat healthy,go for medical examinations,reduce activities that cause stress and fatigue,so as to combat this killer disease.
