God promised Israel that they would lend to the nations if they obeyed him. U still don't get it do u? God doesn't do things for the immediate but rather for the ultimate good which why many atimes we can understand Him. God wasn't trying to prove to those people their idols wasn't the one answering their prayers, though atimes he makes them understand by His miraculous act to Israel n His prophets. But He overlooked at the time of Ignorance, but now that all is set there is no excuse for any n command all to repent. Read Acts 17:30-31.

This is the reason for the preaching, everyone has been given opportunity n is expected to repent 'cos a day has been set for judgement. And this is why necessity is laid on a xtian to preach the word to all as a testimony to every man. This is why one of the prophecy to be fulfilled before Jesus coming is that The gospel would get to everyone.
