You dey mind them? Tomorrow some cattle rearers would emerge from the shadows and ask everyone else to "go back to your village" since Abuja belongs to them. Same thing is playing out before our eyes in Lagos. Funny country.
If there weren't cattle rearers, what meat will you eat? Thank God it was the cattle rearer's idea that initiated the contract and it was cattle rearers' cotton and groundnuts money that built Lagos before oil. I pity you people, there is nothing inside your brains except tribalism, hatred and wickedness.

Everybody should develop their regions with their own resources.

Abuja is the future Capital of Northern Nigeria aka Republic of Arewa. They initiated Abuja, they direct and approve everything in Abuja, they've been head of FTC from day one, they decide what get's built and what doesn't get built, who stays and who must go, what get's banned and what doesn't.

1. The first Standard Gauge Railway Modernisation Projects (SGRMP) undertaken in Nigeria is from Abuja to Kaduna.

2 The first high speed rail in Nigeria is the $1.5 billion dual-carriage high speed rail from Lagos to Kaduna which is the first phase for the Lagos to Kano high speed rail system aka North and SW link.

This is the future. Read between the lines if you are not part of the above equations.

To those saying "Lagos is deporting people and what not".....Do you see destitutes, beggers, road-side hawkers, dirty looking traders on those roads in the pics??

The truth is Abuja has been structured in a way that 90% can't afford to live there unlike Lagos that every Tom, Dick and Harry, dogs and Goats can wander in and start doing what they like in the streets.

Abuja doesn't need to deport destitutes because they can't afford to live there anyway. Now which is more welcoming??

@Topic. Lovely roads we have there but it still trash considering the fact that MMA is of far more economic importance but has been neglected. I hope they really plan on fixing it soon because that's another smear on the current Government.

Everybody should develop their regions with their own resources.

Just stating the historical facts here. The Federal Capital Territory in Lagos was limited to Lagos Island and its municipality which included Ikoyi, V.I and Yaba administered through Federal Ministry of Lagos Affairs. The rest of Lagos metropolis: Ikeja, Agege, Mushin, Ikorodu, Epe and Badagry (majority of present day Lagos) was part of and administered by the Western Region from Ibadan until the creation of Lagos state in 1967. In 1968, Lagos Island was capital & sit of two governments: Lagos State government and the Federal Capital. In 1976, after the creation of FCT in Abuja, Ikeja became the state capital.

Just so you Know.

Good riddance to bad rubbish*Hiss*. Very soon what is currently happening in Lagos will still happen there. When they will demand that everyone should go back to their state. Nigeria is such a funny country where pple take laws into their hands.

Are yerobas no longer the owners lagos? Buncha cowards.. cool

Maxymilliano: Beautiful pictures I must say, but while celebrating the massive construction of the Abuja Airport Road, there's need to spare a thought for the eyesore which the MMIA roads in Lagos has become.

To anyone visiting Nigeria, coming in through the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos still remain the top choice ahead of Abuja and Port-Harcourt.
