Wayne Rooney, according to Sir Alez Ferguson, made his intentions to leave the club known before the end of the season, and presumably, before the coming of Moyes. Hence, saying he wouldn't want to play under Moyes is an unverified rumour, an air-grasping guess at most. I would want to believe that his now degraded club status is the reason for his departure. Before the coming of RVP, he used to be out talisman, but the excellent form of the Dutchman has seen Rooney reduced to a mere squad member, his form doing no favours to the poor competition he's putting up against other squad members. For me, this, coupled with his decision to join a close-rival club is enough to make it imperative for him. And indifferent for me, should he decide to switch clubs. With his talismanic status in the English national team, and the name he has already made for himself in football, if leaving for Chelsea would re-awaken him, fine, let him go. I believe it would be best for all if he reclaims his lost glory, than rot away in the face of competition at Man United. Besides, Man Utd are known for breeding loyal players, at least, while they're still at the club. Two transfer intentions in three season is a pinch of salt too many for the soup. LET HIM GO!! |
