David Moyes' first Premier League game in charge of champions Manchester United is at Swansea on Saturday evening.

Moyes claimed early silverware last weekend as his Red Devils side beat Wigan 2-0 in the FA Community Shield clash. That was only United's third pre-season win from eight games.

Robin van Persie, who topped the Premier League scoring chart with 26 goals last season, netted a brace at Wembley and will continue to be the main man with question marks hanging over team-mate Wayne Rooney.

The unsettled striker played for 67 minutes of England's 3-2 friendly win over Scotland in midweek and showed no signs of injury, but the extent of his involvement at the Liberty Stadium remains to be seen.

Moyes is yet to make a signing at United, but his counterpart Michael Laudrup has spent around £20million on a host of new faces including striker Wilfried Bony, midfielders Jonjo Shelvey and Alejandro Pozuelo, and defender Jordi Amat. Another midfielder, Jose Canas, has also arrived on a free transfer.

Swansea's competitive campaign began at the start of the month with a 4-0 aggregate victory over Malmo in the third round of Europa League qualifying. That came after a series of seven straight pre-season wins in which Laudrup's men scored 28 goals and conceded just one.

The equivalent fixture last season just before Christmas was most memorable for the incident which saw Ashley Williams kick a loose ball which struck van Persie's head at close range. Sir Alex Ferguson's outrage overshadowed the game itself in which Michu's first-half equaliser cancelled out Patrice Evra's opener. In the return game in May - Ferguson's last at Old Trafford - Rio Ferdinand secured a 2-1 home win late on.

Swansea ended a run of six successive opening-day defeats with a 5-0 win at QPR last season. United have lost just two of their last 17 opening league fixtures, though one of those was last year at Moyes' Everton.

Jonathan de Guzman will miss out for Swansea against the champions due to concussion.

The Dutch midfielder was hurt in a training-ground collision with Dirk Kuyt while on international duty and could also miss the first leg of the Europa League play-off at home to Petrolul Ploiesti on Thursday.

Pablo Hernandez and Jonjo Shelvey are available again after their respective groin injury and illness, while Wilfried Bony is set to feature despite only arriving back from Ivory Coast's friendly against Mexico in New Jersey late on Thursday night.

David Moyes must decide whether to include Wayne Rooney in the squad for his first Premier League game as Manchester United manager at Swansea.

Rooney completed 67 minutes of his first game of the summer when England defeated Scotland on Wednesday and is expected to be on the bench at the Liberty Stadium.

Rafael and Javier Hernandez (both hamstring) and wing duo Nani and Ashley Young are all expected to be sidelined, so Wilfried Zaha stands by for his first top flight start, although Michael Carrick should recover from the eye infection which kept him out of England's friendly.
