For every writer, there is only one choice for your writings, you either publish or they will perish and delaying publication has cost me a fortune, the loss of seven unpublished novels and several shorter works lost in transit before I discovered that I don't have to wait for big publishers to share my testimonies of our existence with the rest of the world.

I started the traditional way of submitting works for consideration and publication by publishers and received about five rejection slips in my early 20s before my first volume of work, "Children of Heaven" was accepted and published by Krysral Publications Limited in 1987 and had a big launching at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) on Victoria Island, Lagos and made the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) 7 pm news (a big deal then) read by the famous Siene Allwell-Brown, one of the best TV broadcasters in the history of TV broadcasting in Nigeria. Then I won a first prize for a poem, became one of the youngest editors of a national publication in Nigeria, Kiddies World magazine, supplied to all Unity Schools in Nigeria through the Ministry of Education and then became a UNICEF Program Consultant for Child Survival and Development in Nigeria at 25, because of my writings. I won a third prize for a short story in 2002, directed a stage adaptation of my "Sleepless Night" and launched a national essay competition for all secondary schools in Nigeria at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies of the University of Lagos in 2003. Then left Lagos for Bonny Island in River State in 2004 on a peace mission in the Niger Delta to produce a documentary on the Niger Delta crisis. But I was not fulfilled until I stumbled on Indie publishing and attempted self publishing for the first time in 2006 and broke all the barriers of traditional publishing. And I have not looked back.
You can find my best selling books on Lulu, Amazon and Barnes and Noble. And my advice is PUBLISH BEFORE THEY PERISH.

This is inspiring. I hope to work with you or meet you sometime soon. For now, I'm somehow restricted by some temporal, ephemeral circumstances which will soon be history. Thanks for the post.
