I think the Hero in this story is radarvector RDV

ahem, cough, cough, (blushing),

Yes O, I'm afraid its me. grin

The paper were doing a series of articles on Afro-Carribean people who have chosen non-mainstream professions. Watch out for some very impressive people to be showcased in coming issues. It was truly humbling and inspirational to see what our people are quietly acheiving in the world.

"Live the dream", and "Never give up". That should be the motto of anyone who aspires to become a pilot, as I am sure all of you here know (especially if you have read all 10 pages of this thread,, that shows you have the determination and tenacity to make it, already!!!!)

Hope you are all doing fine, and keeping the dream alive,

Am very glad and more than excited to find this thread on this forum.
It has been my childhood dream to be a pilot but because of finance and lack of adequate information i relaxed and almost killed the dream. i even went to university to read geology, am practicing now but these days the childhood dream is coming up and its burning me up, in fact its simply eating me up. But with the stories here and similar interests, i can see light at the end of the tunnel. I hope to get more ifo and also assit all in getting more info so we can all acheive our heart desires. Cheers to all. " lets keep the hope alive".

A big holla to Pilot77, Wham, femo2000, kiwi992, RDV and lots of you out there, whome I've developed a huge admiration and respect for. I've been following this thread for a while now, and certain inputs prompts nostalgic feelings in me, because i do sincerely understand the feelings of lots of the passionate individuals who pour their hearts out.

I'm proudly naija, and grew up dreaming of soaring in the skies,  I've allways find this quote bringing a smile to my face "A man who has flown before, walks with his head held up to the sky, because he knows that up there he has been, up there he will return"

Things didnt come easy for me, I made my enquiries, had numerous dissapointments, but continued to fight on, to find a place in aviation. Today i have achieved my degree in aeronautical engineering, with specialization in propulsion systems and aircraft structures, from a european university, and currently rounding up a masters in computational design and modelling in mechanical engineering, still in europe, and have been involved with several aircraft design projects, and actively participated/ing in aerospace forums and societies both as a student and as a professional.  I think the great encouragement being dolled out by the above mentioned individuals is of great value, and i'm so proud reading the words of advices, and happy to know that there are people who care, and know what they are talking about. Big ups to you guys, and keep on doing the great job.  I wont say i'm highly proficient in aviation matters, but I'll be glad to offer hints concerning any issue to anyone who needs it.

The true wings of naija will unfurl very soon, and all u passionate folks here will have a place, and soar as well!
Cheers fellas!

I am planning to go for my training in HPPL and its really expensive but i am hoping to get the funds ready by September.
I need some advise about schools that can offer cheaper fees as the ones i have seen so far on the web ranges between 188,000 and 250,000 rand.( about 3.5million naira).
i prefer to fly rotary wing due to the flexibility and less crashes as it is not too risky like an airplane.

Hope i get some threads giving me more schools with reasonable fees and also handouts
