ASUU Strike by yinkhar(f): 11:23pm On Sep 06, 2013
I keep wondering what is running through each students mind, wat d leaders are thinkn.
whr are d unilag students dat protested durin d change of d institution's name?whr are d religious fathers who interceeds on behalf of our leaders before God?whr are d prominent people in nigeria?whr are d future leaders(d youths)?whr are d cultist?
Are we jst goin to sit down and watch our hopes of career wash down d drain?are d religious fathers out there?y cant d religious leaders help us interceed with d president to answer to need of ASUU.i believe d religious fathers kept mute cos their children aint part of us affected by ASUU and they also own their expensive private universities which earned dem enough.
nigeria students, cant you protest concerning d ASUU strike?are you enjoying watchn ur career been jeopardised wit?your mates in private uni are moving forward.i believe if we start a protest and fill the d whole nation wit our cries,d president who refused to yield to ASUU will respond.we are important in d society.let d nation hear our cries and cum to our aid.
d foolish leaders talkn abt child marriage are senseless goats dat nids to b replaced by us in d future which is near already. As for me,am tired of stagnancy, lets move forward.Am ready and willing to join any protest that will bring a positive change in d education sector.
GREAT NIGERIA StUDENT

this are the same questions i asked some weeks ago in a topic i made which has now died off (may it rest in peace). It seems majority of the students dnt give a crap about the strike, where are those ones that where protesting when dey changed unilag to Maulag. Honestly if this is how we want to act den RIP to the educational sector, start migrating to ghana, togo etc. Anywhere but here.....

NOOOO DEY CANT UNLESS THE FG WANTS A SCANDAL NO ONE WILL DIE IF IT IS ORGANISED WELL. THE BEST PLACE TO DO THIS IS IN IKOYI AND ON THE ISLAND IT IS THE MAIN CENTRE OF ATTENTION. REMEMBER THAT FUEL SCARCITY PROTEST IN JANUARY LIKE 2 YEARS AGO. JUST OBSTRUCT THE ROADS IN HUGE NUMBERS JST IMAGINE HEAVY TRAFFIC THROUGHOUT NIGERIA LETS SEE HOW FG LIKES IT.....

We can't continue leaving ASUU nd FG alone in dis struggle. We are d major stakeholders. We ar at d receiving end. Our collective fate I̶̲̥̅̊s̶̲̥̅̊ not even taken into cognizance by both parties. We cannot continue dis "sitdown look pose", its tym for Nigerian students to standup, wakeup nd let dere voices be heard.
It myt interest U to knw dat most of our leaders av dere wards or relatives in d choicest universities in d world nd private universities all ova d country. It myt also interest U 2 knw dt most of d wards of d top ASUU echelon also have dere wards in private universities. ♓☺ many of dem av dere wards in public universities? Person weh no enta sun, how e wan knw weda d sun hot or not?" Dese ppl can't feel our pains, dey undastand ow we feel. Nigerian students are suffering.
Its hightym Nigerian students came 2geda in consonance nd make muvs 2 shutdown all d private universities in d country, all least if dere wards return home, dey will knw we mean business. Enof I̶̲̥̅̊s̶̲̥̅̊ enof!

Re: ASUU Strike by lomaxx: 8:09am On Sep 08, 2013
@OP, you have spoken well. ASUU is not wrong to embark of a strike action to have their 2009 FG-mediated agreement met. We the students are in total support of this action. However, the negative feedback effect is on us. We are unfortunately feeling the brunt of this bold step.

At the helm of the blame is the Federal Government, famously led by the slow poke retardeen , GEJ - who has failed to implement an agreement that was made about 3 years ago.

As much as we love ASUU's bold step; and as much as we hate the accompanying stagnation in our academics, we should be wary of any step that would engender a mass action. Having experienced so many Student-Mass-Action-Turn-Bloody in Nigeria, with consequent loss of lives and physical abilities; either we edge on the struggle(fully aware of unbecoming consequences) , or bat our lids at the warring parties. The elephant and the tiger do not go hunting on the
same pasture.
