Fashola Not Making Much Difference In Lagos – Metuh by scopusng(m): 5:53pm On Sep 09, 2013
The national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, has dismissed the achievements of Lagos State governor as mere media hype and nothing compared to the achievements of some PDP governors.Metuh, who made this position known in an interview in Lagos weekend, said despite the high internally generated revenue in Lagos State, the impact cannot be seen as nothing much has changed in the commercial city in the last 10 years.
He said of PDP governors, “It is a fact that as governors of PDP they have done very well in their states. The party is
proud of their performance in their states and their people are happy with them.” While comparing Governor Babatunde Fashola’s achievements with those of PDP governors, Metuh explained that “If you look at it, these are some of the best governors in Nigeria and everyday you tell me about Fashola. Fashola is not the best governor.”
He added, “As far as I am concerned, when one look at the popularity being enjoyed by Governor Babatunde Fashola here in
Lagos and the whole country, one will want to believe that he is the best governor in the present dispensation whereas he
cannot be compared to some PDP governors.
“With the high IGR being generated in Lagos and the publicity enjoyed by Lagos government, I don’t see the effect when I
arrive Lagos. It is almost 10 years that I left Lagos but I have not seen much difference here. For those of us that travelled
far and wide across this country, we have seen a lot of development in many PDP controlled states like Akwa-Ibom, Jigawa,
Kano State and others but people there are not making noise”, the PDP spokesman said.

Well well well. . . Lagos made modest improvement from third to fourth worst city to live in in the world. This ranking coming after 14yrs of ACN at the helm with billions of dollars in loans and internally generated revenue not to talk of huge federally allocated revenue.

The truth is that some Lagosians have been brainwashed with the loads of propaganda from APC.

1) Why can't Lagos lay pipes for a functional pipe borne water system like most cities of the world? Why should Lagos State government subject us to dangerous sources of water supply like shallow boreholes, MaiRuwa and "Pure" water? Even here in Nigeria, most PDP states I have been to have functional public water system

2) Where are the light rails Fashola went to procure in Canada?

3) The highly publicised Lagos to Badagry expressway has nearly been abandoned with only Orile - Mile 2 completed.

4) Where is the Lekki International Airport these Alausa crooks promised us will be ready by December 2012?

5) Where is the Lekki sea port?

6) We pay for everything under the sun including LAWMA fees to empty our dustbin eventhough they will never come pick up the garbage

^^^ stop the bad blood like your people are known for.

since fashola came into, lagos has become a city on the rise of becoming MEGA. Which naija city has improved like lagos since 2007? None, except for the other SW states imbibing his ideas.

I think your generation and kins are absolutely useless! Which state by the Niger side do you come from so we can tell you exactly why you cannot stay in your hell hole but rather migrate to Yorubaland of Lagos? At least you saw something completed which you mentioned. Mention one major thing you governor has completed and commissioned in the past 1 year only? How about the retardeen? How about the crappy Niger bridge to nowhere or they are still doing soil testing?? Since Lagos is 4th worst city in the world, why not go back to your state in the east? I know one day (today is ONE day less when) you ingrates will be shipped back to your erosion ravaged lands.

Ol boy,

Lagos never make all these improvements wey you list and see how everybody all over East dey pack their belongings and relocating in, including their governors. Can you imagine if these developments were made and the city is running smoother, even feather-band traditional rulers will abandon their domain and relocate to Lagos.

Both nationally and internationally, he is acclaimed as one of the bright hopes for the future of Nigeria; one of the very progressive Governors determined to reclaim Nigeria’s past glories through competent and transparent leadership.

In the past few years, Mr. Fashola (SAN), has demonstrated excellence and uncommon commitment to his avowed pledge to lead the change that would transform Lagos into Africa’s model mega- city.
Some of the key projects which his dynamic and proactive business-minded skills have inspired and advanced include the Eko Atlantic City project, the 10-lane Lagos- Badagry Expressway, the expansion of the Lekki-Epe Expressway, the Lekki Free Zone, the Bus Rapid Transit System, massive Infrastructure Renewal in all parts of the State, that has won the State honours from as far as Australia for undertaking the fastest infrastructure renewal ever in Africa, and the establishment of the Security Trust Fund.

His other achievements include Environmental Regeneration that helped reduce violent crimes by over 70% in 1 year; the massive cleanup of Oshodi and other metropolitan open sores once regarded as irredeemable. Concrete steps have also been taken towards improving Agriculture and Food Security among many others.

Why should we even listen to this Aso Rock manufactured dullard considering the fact tha the same Akpabio in Akwa Ibom feels comfortable enough to store his precious Family in Lagos state instead of his so called transformed village back home?

Dullards comes 1 kobo/Dozen for real..

allow me to apologise for our inadequacies, also to apologise that all the people that quote you did not respond to your questions,
Before I continue please where do you live in Lagos?
Have you being residing in Lagos for more than 15yrs?
1,when last were you at the badagry express road?
2,there is pipe borne water in many areas in Lagos more than any state in the country#facts,
3,Lagos is cleaner than 15yrs ago where all our roads were refuse dumps,#lawma is working,if the one in your area does not come and do its duties,it is your civic duty to complain to lawma, stop payments.
4,no one promised you thay lekki international airport/seaport will be completed by 2012.
Its not propaganda,we can see Oshodi,Obalende,Surulere,Ikeja,Balogun yaba modern market, ikorodu road, ikorodu water jetty, improved healthcare facilities,
Improvements and development can not cover the whole state at once it have to start from somewhere, all other area will be covered in due time.

Is it not the same Akwa Ibom state governor this PDP mouthpiece is refering to as a better govenor that is residing in Abuja and his Family in Lagos? grin

National Mirror gathered that the relocation of Akpabio’s family to Lagos perhaps worsened the absence of the governor from the state(Akwa ibom). When he takes time off his busy schedule in Abuja, he(Akpabio) moves to Lagos to spend time with his family.

http://nationalmirroronline.net/new/crisis-pdp-states-paralysed-as-govs-relocate-to-abuja/

If Akpabio has done much, why hasn't he relocated his Family to the Akwa Ibom he transformed?
