The reason the positions were given to foreigners wasn't because there weren't qualified professors in Nigeria to fill up the positions. The reason was because people did not respond positively to the advertisement they placed in the national dailies. I don't how employing expatriate professors is a stupid thing. I think it's laudable. The students in that university would be exposed to an array of different teaching styles and methods which ultimately would enrich their intellectual wellbeing. It's a win-win situation for the students.
