Starting with the first item on the list which is Schools.

Schools in Akwa Ibom..

Free and compulsory education for primary and secondary schools
Targeted education
State-of-the-art digital library
Accreditation of courses at our higher institutions
Schorlarships to study abroad
Provision of digital center in AKS Polytechnic Ikot Osurua
Renovation of at least 1 primary school and 1 secondary school in every local government

The state government intensified efforts at revamping the educational sector by rehabilitating dilapidated schools and boosting the morale of teachers. Akpabio introduced a free education policy for the first nine years in public schools and he has made the Akwa Ibom state University of Technology his priority educational project. Its new management team is working towards getting the nod of the National Universities Commission (NUC), and academic and other activities are set to commence in the institution before September.

Determined to provide affordable and qualitative education to its citizens, Akpabio has also charged the commissioner for education and all agencies involved in education management in the state to map out workable solutions to checkmate the level of decay in the public educational sector. In fact, the state government has concentrated more on revamping the educational sector by rehabilitating dilapidated schools and boosting the morale of teachers.

Rehabilitating dilapidated schools, boosting the morale of teachers which was at its ebb before now. Also, the Akpabio administration, in an attempt to ensure that children in the state enjoy their right to education, has introduced a free education policy for the first 9 years in public schools.

The Akwa Ibom State University of Technology is a priority educational project of the Akpabio’s administration. Conscious of the dearth of professionals of Akwa Ibom origin in this field, the previous administration conceived the institution to meet this need. However poor management and implementation remained the albatross of this noble idea and as at the terminal date of the previous administration, nothing tangible was on ground to show for the funds committed into the project.

The Akpabio administration, desirous of helping improve the academic standard in the state, has partnered with the management of federal government owned University of Uyo to recover the courses delisted during the last visit of the NUC accreditation panel to the institution. Apart from that, the state government has rehabilitated roads in the university and governor Akpabio has assured the University of his Administration’s support in other areas.

To improve healthcare, the administration donated a dialysis centre with 12 units of dialysis machines to the Federal Medical Centre. He introduced free medical services for children, pregnant women and senior citizens. He also rehabilitated several government-owned hospitals and their obsolete equipment has been replaced with new and sophisticated ones.

In an attempt to uplift the health care delivery standard in the state, the administration has also has built and donated a dialysis centre with 12 units of dialysis machines to the Federal Medical Centre, uyo. Free medical services have been introduced for children, pregnant women and senior citizens while massive rehabilitation work has been done in several government-owned hospitals, even as obsolete equipment were replaced with new and sophisticated ones. In addition to this, the administration last year laid the foundation stone of an ultra modern specialist hospital at Ekit Itam II.

The hospital is expected to be completed within the next 24 months and when completed, it will serve as a referral centre for the entire Niger Delta.

this is madness, how on earth can dreams from cokeland be converted to reality, how can any sane person compare fashola to akpabio.who does not know the later is a product of media hype.the ambulance in the pics was bought by the previous regime.there is no hospital owned by state government in uyo federal constituency, the pychiatric school does not exist again as it had been deaccredited.aks with less than 5mil people have collected over, 2trillion in both federal allocation and internally generated funds. in education sector its a disaster the five oldest secondary schools are nothing to write home about.most of the schools are universal basic education and local govt joint account projects.

Skill centers and Human development

Universities

The only picture of skills acquisition center I found looks abandoned and disturbing and to prevent any ill feelings, I won/t post it. There's a general statement on the governor's website about skills acquisition, but that's it

There's little or nothing about Akwa state university, not even on the state's or the governor's website..

Agriculture...

Agriculture in Akwa Ibom State

Akwa Ibom State with with a land mass of some 8,412 square Kilimetres and much arable land in West Africa's rain forest with a population of over 4million people at a density of 350 inhabitants per square Kilometres is naturally endowed as a food basket in spite of her enormous hydrocarbon deposits that supports the entire Nigerian economy.

In terms of employment, agriculture is the dominant economic activity of Akwa Ibom State. Agriculture supports households of about 75% of the state's population, the rural economy is agro-based, and the state is a powerhouse for various agricultural products such as palm oil, cassava, yam, cocoyam, plantain, maize, rice, rubber, and many varieties of fish and other sea food including catfish, barracuda, sardines, bonga, croaker, shrimps, crayfish, snappers, bivalves, squids and oysters..

The only media hype product I see here is Fashola who has done nothing except commissioning private sector projects and ppp's and taking credit for them. Fashola is easily the worst performing governor in Nigeria without being able to account for what he has done with the states over 30 billion naira monthly IGR. Comparing Akpabio who is building akwa ibom from scratch to Fashola is like comparing the difference between heaven and earth. Fashola is a fraud.

IBOM POWER PLANT (IPP)

The IBOM POWER PLANT project was already completed to 97% by the government of Victor Attah , so why are you bringing it here? By 2007, the Ibom power stood at 95% . Le meridian hotel wasn't his project, Akwa Ibom international airport wasn't also his project. Victor Attah already fund the international airport to almost 95% completion by 2007.

With exceptions of roads that Apkabio did well, nothing to show for the billions coming to the state.

Apkabio is just a media maniac and a fraud, that will always bribe his way through.

The chicken has come home to roost, visionary projects such as the
Airport, five star hotel and Independent power plant are credited to
Attah’s administration .Akpabio claims 3000 projects and has been
tempering with official government gazettes and commissioning
jobs done as earlier as 1990 as his. it would not be an exaggeration to say that the IPP was between 90-95% completed before the present administration came in. This is so because what remained was the completion of transmission line to Eket substation and powering the plant to link the national grid although the towers were erected to Eket, high tension cables were on ground and gas linked up to the turbines

The turbines-all the 3 turbines with total capacity of 191mw had
been erected and were undergoing checks by general electric. The
transmission line from Ikot Abasi to Eket ?(152 of them)had been
erected. The transmission cables had been paid for and have been
available on site. The administrative building had been
completed.Gas to the turbines had been converted from ALSCON

gas unit. The sub-station for the power station was almost
complete. The agreement for gas and power purchase had been
drawn up and vetted by federal authorities. All the Ancillary
equipment had been purchased.
