The Osun Elementary School Feeding and Health Programme now known as O-MEALS is the one of the few surviving school meal programmes in the country. It was formerly known as the Home Grown School Feeding and Health Programme (HGSFP) . This has now been restructured and enhanced by the administration of the State of Osun, to reach a larger number of students (254,000) and to empower over 3000 community caterers.

The revamped programme has helped increase school enrolment by a minimum of 25%.

Specifically the improvement areas include :

Process Improvement.
Increase in Beneficiaries from 180,000 to 254,000.
Increase in per child, daily food allowance from N50 to N250.
Capacity building and Empowerment for 3007 community caterers.
Backward Integration to local poultry Industry.

By the END of Ogbeni Aregberascal's tenure, people will realise that he is one of the best things that ever happened to the State of Osun. With TIME all his haters will have no choice than to like him or keep dying in hatred. THINGS can only get better in the State of Osun.

Do ADAMAWA have governor? Cos nothing have been done in that state since the inception of Nyako as a governor even the scholarship we do received as undergraduate (N14,000) for the past two academic session he was unable to pay.

Very good development. This will motivate more children to start attending school. But sadly many of them would be more interested in the food to be eaten than the knowledge to be acquired. angry

The good part is eventually a lot of them will develop interest. 1st step I to get them to come to school even if it is for food, as long as they are able to also get good teachers the students will discover at least one or 2 subjects they have a passion for, some knowledge will be gained.

This a good move by the Governor of Osun State, I must say. He seems to be one of the very few governors that has the interest of the masses at heart. However, we must not forget the fact.....he vied for the office of Governor to serve the people. He is not doing anything extra-ordinary. In as much as he should be commended for making an attempt to better the lives of people of Osun State, we must not do this out of proportion. Lest, it might get to his head and follow the steps of other governors. A very logical way to look at it is this.......If you're employed to do a job which you'll get paid for, do you get praises and accolades on the side for doing the job which you're paid for? The obvious answer is no. In the same vain, we should not flatter him with praises because he's doing that which he should do. It's understandable that Nigeria is a country filled with failed politicians so when we see one who is making the slightest attempt to make life better for the citizens, we tend to exaggerate it. I'll be the first to flatter him with praises if funds which he used for the projects are from his purse and not the state allocation. Well done Governor Aregbesola but we still expect more. That's what you were elected into office to do.
