When it comes to national essay competitions we'll know better.
Private schools over pampered and over feed their students while in public schools u are on ur own.

on average private private primarimary schools are better but public secondary schools are better because private primary school teachers have more time for every student as a reault of few studes in each class. But most of the private secondary school students believe that wether they read or not pass is sure and expo is waiting for them in SSCE. while in public secondary secondry schools you are on your own, that is why most of the public school students oerform better during competition and in higher institutions

Public school is still the best, majority of all this pravite scl are just to make money & using the teachers that are not qualify, also suppling the answers for d students 'n d exam hall

if government can provide good environment for pub scl teachers and change the attitude of using old method of administration. e.g Teachers must use hand to write lesson note/plan (which Computer&Internet can do easily) , 1 teacher to 15 classes & above 1000 students, puting wrong people to head the ministry, bad and not uptodate curriulum etc.

public school is still the best because of the qualify teacher they just need to change their attitude and be encourage

In Nigeria, Private schools is much better than public. Go anywhere in this country or outside, the students that are winning competitions and awards are only students in private schools cause they are more exposed than the students in public school. The public schools dont have better teachers or equipments for students. So is nt someting one shloud argue about

Public school is always better. The private school lack qualified and competent teachers, and the environment of learning is not large enough with no play ground. Public school is it! Anyday.

It should have been Public, but negligence by the teachers towards their job (don't blame d govt) gives way for the energetic Private teachers.

My own point of view is that, at Primary school level private school is more better than public school but at Secondary school level public school is more preferable than private school. Asap...

To me I believe it's what the Parents want! Remember "charity begins at home" if a child is dull no amount of private or public school will make him/her brilliant!.

It all depends of the level of attention given the kids by the Parents.

I went to a private primary school,but only became a better student when I went to the public school.the teachers brought out the best in me.since then,I haven't looked back.

Private schools in Nigeria are better than public schools. You want a proof? pick 5 kids from good public schools and 5 kids from good private schools, you will get your answers after that.

Lolzzz, what kind of white lie is this A graduate of OAU can lecture a graduate of any private university in this country, all my cousins re graduates of private universities nd they don't know nothing... There is only one private university that can manage to rub shoulders with the public universities in this country and dat is covenant university... The rest are just buildings where kids who cannot pass jamb run to..

It is believed by some people that to get quality education, one has to send his/her child to private school. But the output from private school is not commensurate with the high fees paid.

In competitions, students from public school always win the prize.

I have personally experienced from my former boss' daughter whose school fees amounted to millions of naira and yet she couldn't even write final exam by herself. They had to pay someone to do that for her.

Could it be "sing along syndrome" that is affecting majority of parents even when they know that amount spent in private is not equal the output.

How many times will this issue come up front?
Like I've said, this question has no base.
Are we talking about secondary or tertiary, nursery or primary.?
Generalizing it only makes it more debatable.
So OP, there will be nothing like "an insightful analysis for this subject matter."
FACT 1: There are many Private schools out there that are better than Public Schools. And there are also many Public schools out there that are better than Private Schools.
SO.:
Instead of this question, why not pick 2 schools and compare them.

Nice topic @ Op. This is my preference:
1. Nursery/primary school: Private
2. Secondary: Good private school where they will not teach my children in the exams or a Public school that I trust.
3. Tertiary: Public school. Despite the strike and other Nigerian problems, that is where they can bring out the best in you if you are the serious type.
