Finished from IFe,2008.did I. T twice in National Hospital Abuja.did intership in The teaching hospital ife and served in FMC abia.Worked in community Pharmacies in Abuja for months then joined GSK,left after a year and also worked with Sanofi Aventis too.Left this year and now Alberta,Faculty of Health Sciences for MSc.
I am at the very early stage of conversion exams to practice in Canada.
I enjoyed my time in Pharmacy school.Pharmcology was my best course in the earlies while Clinical Pharmacy was my best in 4 and 5.

Studied Rx, graduated '06 wt a 2:1. Did 4months wt GSK, moved to GTB, did 5yrs wt GT, moved to US 4 MBA n now with LNG as Project Manager

Don't regret studying Rx tho' as I just opened my own community Rx in Ajah.

The sleepless nights in Rx skool is now giving me rest of mind. Even my old colleagues call me 'the greatest man of honour'

If I may ask,why oil and gas? Why didn't just study an engineering course instead,since oil and gas industry is where you want to work.

If anybody is interestd in calcium oxalate crystals and d rest, den postgraduate is where such suld be unleashed. There is this man that do come to our shop to take Alabukun powder and extra panadol...this man takes d two together and he takes it almost everyday..i think i read something like drugs containing 'extra' like extra panadol have high caffeine content. To me, i think this man is damaging his health since he takes d two medicines together and he takes it almost everyday...
So what I'm thinking right now is if it is right 2advice the man concerning dos drugs (tho m yet 2b a druggist)...N is the drug combination good 4dat man before i take any step? If no, what advice can i give him in such a way that he won't think a young gal hu knws nothing abt drugs z advising him.thanks

Alabukun contains aspirin and caffeine and panadol extra acetaminophen(paracetamol) and caffeine.. Caffeine is a stimulant and his daily intake should amount to over a 100mg so he might already be dependent on it and getting him off it won't come easy.. You should ask him what he's taking the meds for as he might need this meds for chronic conditions like arthritis. Eitherway taking the two meds might not be necessary but then u also won't be able to evaluate if either will be effective. Chronic use of NSAIDs such as aspirin can cause ulcer so you should present him with the facts but not without asking the necessary questions first..

You could end up anywhere so you need to be equipped with your pharmaceutical chemistry, clinicals and pharmacognosy. Even in community pharmacy practise there are lot of things u can tell about a drug by merely looking at its structure such as its instability profile and proper storage. You could find yourself in nafdac analysing drugs and a sound knowledge of your pharmaceutical chemistry will suffice. There are universities in india that deal purely with phytopharmaceuticals to show you how relevant your pharmacognosy is. You can't just be a "pharmaceutics pharmacist" or a "clinical pharmacist". You have to be an all rounder.
