Just a few days after the Canadian phone maker announced that Fairfax is buying the company in a $4.7 billion deal, Blackberry is in the news again. This time, the company reported a loss of a whopping 965 million US Dollars for the quarter 2 of 2013.

The loss was hugely helped by what Thorsten Heins who spoke for Blackberry called “Z10 Inventory Charge”. A situation where shipped Blackberry Z10 units were returned due what T-mobile described as to lack of demand.

BlackBerry admits that “most” of the 3.7 million units that reached end users were older BlackBerry 7 devices, which means the Z10 has failed woefully in the company’s expectation.
